Amazon haven’t even shipped Live Alive, don’t think they can be trusted for game launches anymore.

    • +1

Yeah I find them very hit or miss.

For big releases like this I'd prefer to just pay the extra few dollars and pick it up from JB on release.

    • Do you normally buy game at launch?

I was contemplating to buy Live A Live at launch since I don't think they print a lot of copies despite it being an SE game.

Thinking how Octopath is so rare and expensive now despite a lot of prints.

      • If i think it will be rare down the line yeah i do. Otherwise i just wait for sales.

      • Literally as I read this I got my shipping notification for Live A Live.

        • So your copy has been shipped from Amazon…? I preordered from Amazon on 11 Feb and was advised by email this morning they do not know when they'll ship my copy. To say I'm miffed is an understatement.

          • @D-Prod: Yep. I got the notice roughly 10 minutes ago from Amazon. I ordered in February too. I'd be surprised if you don't get your notification shortly.

        • same, will have it tomorrow :) for $58

      • I pre-ordered Live A Live as well, many JB have it in-stock, and of cos when I didn't pre-order Eastward, and Klonoa its nowhere to be found.

Even Big W stock Live A Live.

        • Yea I just bought a copy at EB, price matching Harvey and they had 4 in stock which I thought were a lot for a small EB.

Harvey doesn't seem to have many stocks though as none of the Harveys around me have them in stock (or maybe haven't arrived?). Also Amazon has none available to be ordered, probably because uncertainty of when they'll be delivered.

          • @tajid: is the game factory sealed?

            • +1

@wekimekigugudan: No, and i saw all 4 cartridges were outside their cases and the manager said they arrived not sealed.

            • +1

@wekimekigugudan: Nintendo switch games are normally not factory sealed.

If they're sealed it's usually been done after the fact by the seller

people really get hung up on being able to play on day 1 don't they? I'd take waiting a day or so with a good price and free shipping to my door over paying more and having to go get it or pay for shipping. Plus keep in mind that Amazon will deliver on weekends, I've had stuff show up on Sunday's, its great (probably doesn't apply everywhere though I'd imagine)

Dude this depends wildly on the game.

In my opinion there's only 2 positions you can be in and I suspect that's very much the case for most OzB

REALLY GODDAMN WANT THE GAME, so want it day 1, cheapest possible price

Would like the game, but I'm an OzB scrooge, happy to wait for the price to drop to a sensible figure, including eBay used or 3 to 16 weeks after game ships.

I almost always buy games in category 2. I wait for bargains, there's way way too many games.
But when I want one day 1, I really wannit day 1

Not to mention spoilers also. Just because there's a street date, some people still get copies early, and spoilers tend to creep up on social media etc even when you're not actively looking. There are even YT videos that put spoilers as its title. Getting to play on Day 1 means also avoiding being online and potentially coming across spoilers.

A story-heavy game like the XBC series is ripe for spoiler elements.

Game has already been released early a few days ago so spoilers are incoming:

    • my experience with ordering for myself and friends is the closer you live to the CBD the more likely you are to get it on time or even a day early, and the inverse as well. friends living adelaide and brisbane proper got ACNH a day early, and i've always gotten stuff 1-3 business days after release, living about an hour from brisbane cbd

adelaide and brisbane are certainly smaller than melbourne and sydney though, might not apply there

  • Amazon is very slow.

Some people have already gotten copies off the back of a truck.

  • Is this limited price?

  • I never played this game before, is it similar to Zelda?

    • -5

yes i would say its similar, but fighting style is different, in xenoblade, when you in a fight you just go next to the monster and wait for your character to attack, you don't click button to attack instead your time is spent on choosing what special attack to use, focuing on how to chain your attack etc.

    • +10

It's nothing like Zelda. The Xenoblade games are long JRPGs that play more like an MMO but single player. It's basically an anime with slow, calculated real-time combat in between episodes. The worlds are beautiful, music is awesome, but that core gameplay loop might be a bit boring for some people.

While standalone, Xenoblade 3 is sequel-ish to the first two games - new characters and new world - but they seem to be connecting the first two games with this one so you'll likely get more out of the story if you play 1 and 2 before hand (either first is fine).

    • It's not as easy to play as Zelda.

You'll need to learn game mechanics. Timing and combos with attacks.

It's not exactly like WoW, but it's similar in a way that you have a party while questing and fighting bosses. But you control the whole party, not just a single toon.

  • unless you really want to play it on the first day of release, if not, i would wait a bit, maybe about a month or two, harvey Norman would suddenly come up with a deal and then amazon would price match it, it could go as low as $40. Like me i am playing triangle strategy right now, i got it for $40 from the last harvey norman deal. So i plan to do the same with xenoblade 3, i would wait until i see a $40 deal then i will get it. Unless after i finish playing the game and i got no games to play then i would just buy it at whatever price at that time.

I don't know why you are downvoted, speaking the truth that happened three or more times really

  • +1

    Damnit, still playing through XC1:DE

    • hurry and get to 3.

I think its the best one out of them all to date.

  • Nintendo is slow anyway.

  • I haven't even started the XC2 from Prime day 2 years ago

  • This is a great game, be prepared to sink some time.

There's a learning curve to game mechanics, but once you get the hang of it the fun begins.

Seems like they are price matching mightyape, $59 + $5.90 delivery

  • Hi all,

Just wondering if your game arrived sealed in plastic from Amazon.

    Thanks in advance :)

    • +2

bought the game day 1 no seal.

      • +1

        Thanks.

Just confirming as I also received the game with no seal, but I purchased mine via Nintendo's website

    • +1

      No seal.

Even with the first and 2nd XBC I got new they were not sealed.

Funnily enough my friends who got the US or EUR versions were sealed.
