MAXIMA Level 2 Earloop Face Mask Box of 50 Blue $9.35/Pink $8.99 + $10 Delivery ($0 with 5 or More Boxes) @ Healthcare Xpress

310

Pink $8.99

Hey Folks,

My previous stash of these is getting a little low, so I just grabbed a couple more boxes.

I’ve been using these Henry Schein masks for a few years, and can vouch for their excellent quality and fit.

They have been cheaper in the past, but considering their quality and the fact that this may become the norm again, I think it’s a decent buy.

Hope this helps someone out, and thankyou for viewing

These are good (if a bit small), did they increase the minimum spend for free shipping?

    • +3

Yep, use to be able to get 2 boxes with free shipping (over $20)

      • Yes, got two last time, happy with the quality

    • Are there different sizes to face masks like these? A few months ago I did a search and they all seemed to be roughly the same size. They don't seem quite big enough for my fat head at times

      • Nah it's a one size fits all situation (at least I haven't found any masks that let me pick S/M/L), so really it depends on the brand/make. I find these Maxima ones to be on the smaller side.

    That’s a great username

As far as masks go, it's best to go for P2/N95/K94 level quality considering the transmissibility of the new variants and also because barely anyone else is masking up so risk of transmission is substantially higher.

      • Thanks doc

Formite (touch) transmission is rare compared to aerosol (breath) transmission. That's why P2/N95 masks are so important now that covid is more infectious than measles. Think of masks as underwear for your face ;-)

      • The fact that you still think touching things is the main way that covid is spread, and sanitising is the solution, proves you have no idea about it.

Covid is airborne. It moves through the air.

Also stop comparing covid to the flu. Some 10-20% of infections are leading to long covid. Symptoms like Alzheimers, brain lesions, lung scaring are increasingly common, even in mild and asymptomatic cases of initial infection. People are unable to go about their day to day lives.

I know how this spreads, have been following covid since it broke out in china and I was more paranoid than others and has mentally stressed me more than others. But with the new variants its hard to control the spread. Omicron viral load was what? a 100 times more? If not contact, somebody will not wear a mask, kids dont wear masks and goto school, and then come home. Public transports are full. Have been through brisbane airport recently and the security check line was a joke. People had to zigzag through 4 layers of lines everybody crossing each other again and again 3 times and standing next to each other for minutes. Even if people wore masks, half dont even know how to wear, the other half wear uselesss washable masks. They also give a false sense of security and people dont social distance because of it. One thing the N95 helps is in reducing the viral load. Other than that, it is inevitable that most will eventually get it with the new variants. I am not comparing covid to flu symptoms wise. Its the fact that most will get it. Thought people would understand that and even doctors and virologists have said the same.

@[Deactivated]: Masks buy you time to survive those awful queues. I've seen a table showing the various times to infection. It only takes minutes with no mask, but it takes 1-2 hours with an N95 mask. Even one that doesn't fit is better than a surgical mask. I'd call that a real sense of security.

            • @Cheap Gamer: Wasnt the minutes applicable for the first variant? I think with standing in queues it just take much less than that with omicron and its sub variants. Because when a person exhales omicron, the amount of Virus that gets exhaled was like a 100 times more IIRC. Thats why we couldnt control that variant and opened up the borders.

    • I'm a strictly N95 headloop guy now. No more earloop KF94s which has been shown to be 50% leaky https://jkms.org/DOIx.php?id=10.3346/jkms.2021.36.e140

Each person can take their own risk, but as a former earloop KF94 user, I was surprised to find out that I could be taking in 50% leakage.

I was going to post these yesterday but i thought geez, 5 box min for free delivery is not that great a bargain…
also was the 5 box min advertised anywhere on website? i couldnt find anything about it..its not a very well laid out website _

fwiw i did buy 5 boxes because it looks like **** is about to hit the fan in QLD.

    They are good.
Last time I paid ~ 13$ per box.

  • +1

One of the better quality ones you can get. Stocked up another 5 boxes!

  • Thanks OP bought 5. Good quality

  • Do these have a wire at the top so you can form them around your nose/face?

I bought some the other week and they just have a strip of plastic so its basically just a straight line across with corresponding gap.

    • +1

Yes mate.. They definitely have the wire along the top

  • The quality of these is great, I've personally bought (and used up) 4 boxes from their store before, unfortunately, the $10 postage is a deal breaker now. I used to buy 2 boxes at a time and get free postage, but with $10 postage, that's literally doubling the price of the item for in Australia postage, which is a rip off.

Purchased a box of masks at a store - TGA/medical certified.

  • "Complies with AS 4381:2015" - but is that level 1, 2 or 3? It does not say so I assume only level 1.

  • Title says Level 2

    • +1

      So it does.

    thanks bought 5 boxes!

  • Are these masks effective?

    • I’ve had no issues with them and I’ve been using them for a couple of years

    Stuck at
Processing your order! Please do not refresh or navigate away from the page.

    • Haven’t seen that before ?

    • Not sure if you fixed it but try guest checkout, the logged in checkout doesnt work.

    • I had the same issue - just sat there, and after waiting 5 mins, I was like "well, this is just not working".
Like ATangk suggested, I was able to complete checkout by not being logged in.

  • Checking if anyone know how long it took to post ? ordered 20/07 Sydney and only mention being dispatched.

  • +1

FYI their checkout system has an IT issue if you're logged in. It works via guest checkout.
