recharge times: pro up to 500 times VS standard up to 2100 times
I guess there are the words 'up to' … but let us assume it's 500 times …
Assume that your usage means that you need to recharge these 'pros' every single week (which is highly unlikely for 99% of peeps).
That's about 10 years that they will 'last', if they can be recharged/reused 500 times. Are there actually rational dudes out there who maintain that '10 years of weekly reuse just will not do!' ?!?
I guarantee you that within 8 years there will have been many substantial advances in the relevant technology (among other things). I suggest that in 99% of contexts 500 times is plenty, if you do the maths.
please double check the numbers, but the pros are about 1/4 of the cycle life compared to the non pro ones, possibly trade off for the higher capacity and current? correct me if I'm wrong
I just found these numbers on the package of batteries. Yes, you're right. Go for pro for higher capacity.
haha sorry that first comment was directed at mr_asstight
you posted second before me and I didn't see yours
@506157189: that's fine.
Why useless charger?
Not smart, usually timed only without knowing overcharging the batteries which the excessive heat shortens the battery lives.
You should have a BQ-CC55 charger if you're a real ozbargainer.
I recall there have been 3rd party ones mentioned before.
there isn't BQ-CC55 unit only on sale
Why useless charger?
It is guaranteed to damage your batteries.
A longer answer, cut-and-pasted from one of my previous comments:
the BQ-CC51 is a "dumb" charger, which will damage your batteries a little more every time you use it. It's unfortunate that the majority of chargers available, and the majority listed here on OzBargain, are dumb chargers.
Here's the review of the BQ-CC51, note the comment "Panasonic has a line of NiMH chargers, some are fast and smart, others dumb. This one here is a very slow and very dumb charger":
https://lygte-info.dk/review/Review%20Charger%20Panasonic%20…
And sadly, once charged in a "dumb" charger, your batteries are permanently damaged and will gradually decline, even if you switch to a smart charger. You'll never get close to the rated number of charge cycles.
Thanks
