Unlimited drinks hey… not sure if they are prepared for how much an australian can drink

    • About to say this :D

      • +12

wouldn't be surprised if they say "Unlimited" is the name of the drink haha

    • +27

At that point what difference does it make if you're on location or at home on your lounge just smashed out of your mind…

      • +77

My home doesn't have unlimited drinks 🤷‍♂️

        • +11

          Or a buffet dinner!

        • +4

can you drink more than $1500 of bottom shelf booze in 7 days? Even 2 bottles of vodka a day is cheaper.

        • 'My home doesn't have unlimited drinks …'

My joint does … but keeping them flowing is damned expensive! I might actually save money by taking up this deal, due the unlimited/free drinks for an entire week … ;P

      • +12

My home isn't a tropical beach having mojitos served to me on a tray…

      • +1

Sounds like people taking this deal would be living in the hotel and never leave the premises.
May as well get smashed at home.

      • Agree

      • +2

I'd be fairly confident a chain like Marriott wouldn't be serving up Ethanol!

        • +8

Although at the going rate of E10…

      • +23

        Ethanol = alcohol
Methanol = go blind and die

        ;)

Would happily take a glass of ethanol.

        • +9

The way to remember it is the following:
          Invest in eth.
          Don't smoke meth.

          • +10

@Ilikecars: Jokes on you. I invested in meth and didn’t smoke eth and I’m better off.

        • +1

But, but, but… they're all chemicals!!!!!!! Drink them and you'll wake up in an ice bath missing a kidney!!!!!!!

          • +1

@banana365: Ruski expats will prolly slip in a pill to make sure .. and maybe kick you a few times to ensure your out

        • 'Ethanol = alcohol
Methanol = go blind and die'

Erm … actually methanol is also an alcohol.

        • Yes yes yes. And it's almost impossible to get straight ethanol in Australia (unless you work in a lab or something) but you can use straight ethanol to make all sorts of spirits pretty easily!

      • +6

Ethanol is what all alcoholic drinks have in them. I'm sure the locals were laughing themselves silly when you refused a perfectly normal drink.

        • -1

No this smelt like metho. Drakesy cleared it up.

      • +3

ethanol is what you want. It's methanol you dont want…

      • Free ethanol? Even better!! Too bad you can't bring it back to Australia (Legally)

    • +24

I'm pretty sure a hotel in Phuket would have an idea of how much Aussies drink

      • +1

COVID-times though … maybe they forgot?!? lol

    • +2

They could be sneaky and only include non alcoholic bevs.

    • +4

not sure if they are prepared for how much an australian can drink

Phuket is filled to the brim with Aussies and Poms all year round getting drunk as skunks. I'm pretty sure they are very familiar with it…

    • +2

      Imagine the company :)

    • +13

Replying here for visibility, included drinks list.

    • Depends on what's included in the beverage list.

    • Alcohol in developing countries are cheap

Pretty common to have all you can drink

    • -1

Idk. Even though we are a country of alcoholics, there is only so much someone can physically drink. And unlike Australia, alcohol is very cheap in most other countries.

    • I mean drinks in Thailand don't cost nearly as much as they do in Australia!

      • +1

Very much depends on what variety of drink.

Local beers and spirits - cheaper.

Imported beers, spirits and particularly wines - generally much more expensive.

        • 7 eleven:).
          Don't bother with wine.

    • From my experience.. because aussies don't snack while they drink.. they can't really drink that much in the long run. It's always a sprint with aussies.. when they should be doing a marathon.

      • +1

Just start earlier, drink all day

  • +1

    Drinks could mean tap water

    • +4

Says on the listing "unlimited drinks from all-inclusive beverages list at any outlets for 2 persons from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm"
So yeah, could just be water, but it doesn't read that way.

      • +5

fair enough, pepsi and 7 up as well.

        • +8

You have a choice between Mountain Dew and Crab Juice.

          • +14

@tomsco: Ewwwww… give me the crab juice

    • The drinks list is pretty good
      Was posted previously

  • +2

Sound expensive for Thailand. Probably book this for $60 a night localy

    • +16

Yeah needs to include airfares then I'm in!

      • +1

        And contraception

        • +4

          Abstinence is free

    • +1

Not for that standard and inclusions , that price is really cheap

    • lol

    • +4

$160 per night from last check. Not every place in Thailand matches the bunk bed budget… there's even rooms for $500 a night there!

If it includes Alcohol, then you can make up the remaining amount.

    • +10

All inclusive stay at the Marriott for $60

      Tell him he's dreaming

    • +2

Starting from $1438 on Booking for some random dates I plugged in. No food, no drinks, no upgrades.

    • +2

      Yeahnah
      It's a 5* resort
      Not a 2.5 star $60 a nighter

  • +6

I'd first check the fine print on the "7 nights of romance".

    • +2

      Yeah inclusive of massage

      • +1

Hand shandies are not counted under the unlimited drinks party of the deal.

        • It can be upon request.

  • Wooooo! Does Aust still offer baby bonus?

    • +2

      Only if conceived in Australia..hahaha

  • +63

I was going to skip this and save my money.

    Then I thought “Phuket”.

    • +1

      LOL

    • +1

      LMAO

  • How big is that "bucket of beer"?

    • +3

From previous experiences at other places, it's usually 4 or 6 beers.

      • +9

        But never 5

        • +1

          You never know your luck…

    • +1

      It's a 'Phuket Bucket' … so … pretty big.

  • +1

Nothing says "romance", like s bucket of bear.

    • How about 25% off spa treatment?

    • +3

"s" bucket of "bear", huh… very intriguing love language you have!

      • +2

They don't call it a growler for nothing..

  • +2

This place got hit hard by Tsunami. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAB4zvMlhNo

Surprising how similar it still looks.

  • Kids under 2 included?

    • +10

No but Kids minus 9 months are included.

      • No but Kids minus 9 months are predicted

        FTFY

Now researching airfare, with zero preferred cancellations which is fair because of deadline imposed.

    • SQ all the way but thinking about using the Thai offer.

      • What Thai offer?

  • +16

This hotel about to be OzBargained! May as well have the annual OzB meet up here

Any cheap flights to go with it?

    • In August I’m getting <$1,200 return Thai Airways from Sydney. I think it’s a bit expensive. No Qantas reward flights.

  • The terms do say "Booking cancellations and changes are permitted up to 14 days prior to check in, after this time, you will be charged the rate for 1 night unless you are entitled to a refund or other remedy under the Australian Consumer Law."

But then it says free cancellation until 30 July. Hmm

I'll be combining this with the Thai Airways Gold Orchid thing where you buy credit and get gold status. Worth a try for business class flights we'd pay for anyways.

    • So, if pay for this accommodation now,
then flight cancelled, one or more may be out-of -pocket.

      • No I think you'd be fine according to the terms. It looks like it says you can cancel 14 days prior to checkin or worst case is 1 night charge.

I would always get travel insurance.

  • Premier Pool View.

I want Premier Pool Access in case I turn left instead of right looking for the toilet at 2AM.

  • Where's all the deals for a family!

    • Right here! Leave the kids at home.

      • Home alone?

    • +3

This is a trip for adding kids to your family.

  • +1

Or use Qantas points - 165,000 for 7 nights
