Need Help Looking for Cheap Gaming Desktop - Budget $1200

I'm in urgent need to buy a cheap gaming desktop since the current one suddenly died. My budget is $1200. My old one is a Dell Alienware Aurora R6.

The specs are:
3.6 GHz Intel Core i7-7700 Quad-Core
16GB of 2400 MHz DDR4 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (8GB GDDR5)
256GB PCIe SSD + 2TB 7200 rpm SATA HDD
1 x Gigabit Ethernet Port
802.11ac Wi-Fi | Bluetooth 4.2

Would these specs be an equivalent to this. I want one that is able to play this game.

Most games will tell you their 'minimum' and 'recommended' specs to operate the game. Check the game information from the steam store and see if your considered computer matches or exceeds the specs.

You might be able to just replace the faulty part? Unless you're looking to upgrade anyway.
At the very least you could re-use or sell off parts that still work

Edit: Also that umart PC is not good value. The CPU is better than your old one but the graphics card is worse. It will run worse than your old PC in the majority of games

    • Nah just want a brand new PC that is near the same specs as my old one. You wouldn't happen to know any other prebuilt ones?

This one from techfast is great bang for buck. Solid upgrade from your old one. A bit over $1200 after shipping and you’ll need to source your own Windows license key (might be able to re-use the one from your old PC)

Alternatively save $100 and get the one with a 3060 which would still be a decent upgrade from your old PC

        • Agree with FireRunner, this is a great system and picking any of the ones from TechFast would probably be better than the one you're looking at.
If you don't like the one from FireRunner pick something else that isn't the one you linked.

Definitely got for the 3060 Ti version if possible, it's a big jump in performance from the 3060 for not much more.

  • Buy a new case and power supply those specs are still good maybe upgrade the card to a 3060 ?

what died? if youre after the same specs, why not try to do a little diagnostics first and figure out which part it is.
these prebuilt desktops might seem like one unit, but they are really just 10 individual parts that youve purchased, and paid someone else to put together for you. there's not much risk of poking around inside yourself, since they are made for a DIY market. especially if you are ready to replace the entire thing anyway.

if youre lucky itll be a free fix, like removing a bad stick of ram
if youre unlucky itll still be much cheaper than buying all new stuff

either way itll be much cheaper than buying 10 new parts and throwing away 9 good ones.
