    30 l stainless sensor bin $32.50

What would I do with 30 of them?

You could fill them with those dad jokes for a start :)

              How's auntie?

she's busy emptying your jokes from 30 bins
              It's bin for a while

  • Do you know if you can use ordinary bin bags in these ?

    • +3

I think you need the chrome bin bags for them

Like from out of the wine casks?

        • +1

          Precisely, goon bags

Do you know if you can use ordinary bin bags in these ?

Yes you can, large size. Bit of a trick to get them right as the internal bin has a handle and putting it back in the surround with the bag means using your fingers to keep it over the rim, as it's a tight fit. Once you work it out it's easy.

Plus it takes 4 AA batteries. If you use rechargeable they go for 4-6 months before needing a recharge. Occasionally the mechanism hits the fritz and there is an on/off button to reset it, or means it's time to charge the batteries.

    Thanks OP

  • Weren't there previously reports that the sensors aren't great? Could be an older model but I'd like to hear from someone that has these please

    • Had one for a couple of years and sensor has worked fine. Occasionally hit the reset but good to go again. Bought one due to a pushy dog as the bin is stable, and didn't like the pedal bins.

    • Had one for 12 months and it broke due to my 5 year old constantly forcing the mechanism. Other sensor bins out there are stupidly priced for what they are, so I'd say this is definitely worth a shot

  • What happens when the sensor/motor dies? Paperweight on top?

    • +2

You can still open the lid manually. I've had a couple of these (though not for 2-3 years so maybe they got better?) and they all eventually stop working.

  • Don't need, but bought 2.

  • No stock in any store

    • It says that, but they had one at my local (Qld)

  • Got one of these sensors bin but different brand and size. It isn’t a must compare to pedal bin, but I don’t like to touch the bin (feet or hand), so this kind of sensor bin a little bit more convenient for me.

  • They're slowly phasing out the House & Home brand so keep an eye out over the next few months for some more discounts.

  • Wish it had wifi or BT

  • I’ve just got it, it says can’t use rechargeable battery, also it is extremely hard to fit in battery for one side, I am not sure if the bin I got is faulty? Does anyone have similar experience? I almost feel like I will break the small piece plastic if I forces the battery to fit in.

Rechargeable work fine. Yes the battery fit is tight and not ideal, you do have to use a bit of force and small flat head screwdriver helps to remove them.

      • Thanks for your reply

        • Welcome.
