These were $179 at Prime Sales.

      With free shipping.

Yep, $50 bucks cheaper is pretty big difference. Would give this a go if it is similar to Amazon offer. Will wait on Amazon deal.

      • Yes that Prime price is hard to beat, considering dehumidifier is hot cake now and everywhere is out of stock.

      • +3

No need to overinflate the price! OzCon

    • Not sure if I just missed the deal, but these were still $250 ($230 with cashrewards) during the Prime Day sales this year.

Ccc says they've gone down to $179 in the past but that was before all the dehumidifiers got sold out from rain this year.

      • It was a Prime lightning deal. Won't show on price trackers.

  • How does this compare to brands like AusClimate or Ionmax?

    • Havent used any AusClimate or Ionmax ones, but they are all compressor style, should work the same, I have one running at home, could fill 1.8L tank in few hours in wet weather.

      • +1

        Ionmax is desiccant.

        • I think they have compressor one as well? Maybe anyone used both compressor and desiccant style could share the experience.

  • Same thing in Kmart

    • I couldn't find any stock in Melbourne for the larger kmart one.

      • setup a stock alert on the site. need to be quick when you get the email. book for a click and collect

Its crazy when ppl pay higher $ for exact same thing with different brand names
if anyone think im wrong, prove.

        • The certainly look the same. Doesn't always mean they are as the inside parts can be different, but in this case I doubt it.

Due to the floods in NSW and QLD, people are desperate to get any dehumidifiers at the moment, hence willing to pay higher price for something in stock.

  • +3

According to online, Desiccant is better in low temperature (under 20 degrees). Over 20, compressor is more efficient and cheaper to run.

    • On paper YES, choose desiccant if you ever want to run it during winter month.

      • Just want to run it during rainy days. How much power consumption?

        • from the spec 240w

  • Would something like this be good for a laundry when you’ve got a dryer running?

    • +1

Yes, but It might not stop the initial build up of moisture though

  • -1

Dehumidifier is useless elsewhere in the world. I blame Australia weather

    • try going to UK

  • Brought the delonghi this weekend from HN since they seemed to be the only place with any dehumidifiers in stock. Costs alot more than this though and not sure what the extra money goes towards. So far seems to be doing its thing.
