Awesome news! I played Verdun (must have got that freebie from Epic here in the past) over the Christmas holidays and was impressed to see such an active player base. It's a fun old school FPS too (one headshot kills means it can be frustrating for noobs). Authentic WWI trench warfare game.

Stoked to see Tannenberg, the sequel, also for free now! I think the third part must be releasing soon too - set in the Italian alps I believe. Thanks OP

People still play Verdun in Aus. I really enjoyed it but last time i logged in there were maybe 3 people in Aus servers. When are they usually at their peak?

      • At most you're going to see about 10-12 players on the Aus servers, normally between 8 and 10pm. We're a small but friendly bunch.

If you're looking for a full server you'll need to join the EU servers, the ping can be a bit annoying but it's still playable.

Hey All, When I get a free game I am asked if I want to share my email with the Game Creator, is there any reason to say yes to that?

    • +2

I guess you would be subscribed to their mail list? As a random example, Idle Champions sometimes emails out promo codes to open chests, so maybe you might want to be able to do something like that? I have never ticked it though…

    Australian servers?

    • +1

Yes but there is never anyone on them for Tannenberg (there's a few of us that still regularly play Verdun though)

      • Ah that's a shame. I was really impressed with the tenacity of Aussie WWI enthusiasts that I assumed Tannenberg and Isonzo would be as popular as Verdun remains!

        • I like a game of Tannenberg now and then, but to be honest I find it really stressful to play unless you're on a good team that coordinates and communicates. If you're playing with randoms its really tough, and the balancing is shocking sometimes.

Looking forward to Izonso though, another completely different game style, with what looks to be some interesting progression combos

If you like Hell Let Loose type of game play. I've heard this is right up your alley, unfortunately though, it has suffered from lack of active players.
Excited to give it a go now its free his week and has a fresh player base.

    • I tried Hell Let Loose the other day on the free play weekend, I died like 15 times in the space of 20 minutes and I don't think I actually saw an enemy. Tough game.

You get better at it, requires a lot of team work.

I'm not sure what the end game is with me collecting all these games, I've never played any of them.

Good place to start when you've got time on your hands and want to play a game but aren't sure what.

  • Damn missed it!
