  • BOUGHT!!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks OP. I loved it when I tried it years ago and this is great value for the price!

    Budha’s tears 😭

    • 1) give it a fancy name.
      2) stick it in fancy packaging.
      3) ??
      4) profit.

  • Been waiting for these! Thanks!

Thanks, bought to check out the hype

I haven’t tried the T2 one specifically, but you can get likely similar quality at some Asian grocers when you get their better packaged jasmine pearls for around $18-20

    • do you know what the equivalent is called at the asian grocers? I haven't exactly been able to find the exact equivalent….lots that look similar but taste is not there

    • +3

T2 grade tea is working class tea in China lol

The leaves used in T2 are medium or below medium grade. It doesnt take much to get better quality than T2.

Best green tea is harvested in spring. When they are fresh the tea will look green and taste very calm and refreshing.

Got T2 last time to see the fuss. Never again :)

      • Give us some good brands and share the love?

        • I haven't found a good one in Australia. I know it's surprising, considering this country is ~10% Chinese and 20% Asian and there surely are many tea lovers.

I did search for you, here's taobao link:

          https://main.m.taobao.com/search/index.html?spm=a215s.740609…

Top to medium-top grade costs a few hundred au$/kg there. T2 grade, I'd day around $20/kg worth. Their tea really is that average imo.

  • It's pretty nice, but still more expensive than their others already expensive t2 teas even at half price.

  • Thanks OP, girlfriend will be happy

  • Thanks OP, have always wanted to try this!

  • How is this compared to the China jasmine tea, I have bought for just $14 for 100g in a tin box from T2?

    • i personally prefer this.. but taste is very subjective

      • If you have you tried both, what’s the difference.

        • My guess… The taste

    • China Jasmine batch I got was bitter. And not in a nice, tanniny way. It was just bitter.

      • Thanks, same here. That’s why I’m bit suspicious regarding jasmine and green tea in general.

        • Btw have a go at Dilmah's green tea with jasmine. Imho it's superior to T2's china jasmine

    • +1

If you don't care about 20-40% improvement in taste (subjective) for the 80% increase in price, you're good

  • Any knows how the taste compares to the twinning green tea? thanks

    • Buddha tears are quite floral, fragrant and smooth.

As someone who bought a similar quantity of this not too long ago for just under $50, this is a good deal.

  • Really great product for a good price. Thanks OP

  • Wow, I read that as gold tears at first.

  • Tealife is where it’s at, way better value than T2 consistently. Cheaper than this for 100G packed into tight little balls that unfurl in hot water (which is a nice party trick). Interestingly, the T2 product says to use about 8-10 balls, whereas Tealife is ~5.

    https://www.tealife.com.au/products/buddhas-tears?variant=43…

    • How does the quality compare tho?
They do seem to have similar teas…

      • I was planning to ask that too.

I bought some from a shop in Dandenong and the quality was good. Clear light green water and long lasting jasmine fragrance as I sip the tea.

The one I got from Vic market wasn't that good. Is cheaper but the tea was bitter, murky and short light jasmine fragrance. Total disappointment, feels more stressed drinking it.

      • I’ve purchased 5 different teas from Tealife now and been as satisfied as I’ve been with T2, but YMMV

Rooibos Chai is my top tier, no caffeine is great

  • still waiting for bidens tears

    • +1

      I don’t want to try those…

    • +3

      Wait for the mid-terms

      • +1

        yes, the mid-tears :-)

    • Now with a side of coloxyl and senna

      • I'll take it without senna please

        • Sorry that's not on imprest.

          • @meowsers: Can we use medlocator please and get it? I'm sure we have some around somewhere

  • Only 100g so very small.

    • I may be wrong, but being dried loose leaf tea, you shouldn't need to use very much at all each time in terms of weight, so should last a while.

    • Makes 50 cups, uses bit less tea than the standard 1tsp but yeah still fairly expensive

  • +1

Why is this a deal, like 100g of tea for $25 seems expensive? I buy quality 1kg black tea loose for about $15
Idk I'm not very familiar with tea market and also is T2 high quality one?

    • Same here. I’m not convinced. There must be something about it seeing all those positive reviews. Never in my life I would pay close to $50 for it…

      • That means even with discount the 1kg price of this is $250, and without discount its $500 per kg. Thats kinda stupid for tea unless its best of the best.

Idk also, it has many positive reviews

    • Because it's originally $50, so $25 is a deal for ppl who were willing to pay $50

  • +2

I've been drinking this on and off for a while and I have rebought a pack from the last offer. While it has a good Jasminey profile, the leaves will typically be good for only one cup. Flavour drops a lot by the second cup and is virtually tasteless by the third. I use about 10 pellets per cup.

I'm not a tea connoisseur but I've had teas that retain great flavour even after 5 cups so if this is related to quality then I would agree with some of the comments above.

    • +1

+1 to this. 2nd steep is very lame. I don't think i"ve ever steeped mine 5 times tho. Generally stopped at 2. 3 max

      • Yup realistically you will not get more than one drink from the leaves.
