Westpac Altitude Black Rewards Credit

  • 140,000 bonus Altitude Points with $6k+ spend on eligible purchases† within 120 days of card approval^.

  • 0% p.a. for 24 months on balance transfer>> when requested at card application. 1% balance transfer fee applies. After 24 months, rate reverts to the variable cash advance rate.

  • Plus, because you’re already with us, we’ll reduce your first year card fee to $49 ($250 thereafter**)

Additional Findings for $0 Annual Fee first and subsequent years:

  • If you have a home loan with Westpac and are on their Premier Advantage Package, you need to call the "Home Loans Team" after activating your Altitude Rewards credit card and ask them to link your card to the Premier Advantage Package.
  • This essentially makes the credit card free for life as long as you maintain the Home Loan and Premier Advantage Package with Westpac.
  • I was told over the phone that this doesn't impact your eligibility to the 140K reward points.
  • Normally the Premier Advantage Package has an annual fee of $395 however if you have a family or close friend working at Westpac, they can enroll you into the Friends and Family Premier Advantage Package which nullifies the $395 Annual Fee. Basically no fee at all for the home loan or the credit card.

  • It doesn't seem like this has a restriction of being a recent Westpac CC holder within the past X months?

I recently cycled off the $3k spend Altitude card, it'd be great to be take advantage of this card as well.

    • +1

Offer not available if you’ve held an Altitude Platinum or Altitude Black card with Altitude Rewards, Qantas or Velocity in the last 12 months. T&Cs apply.

        Whoops. Thanks!

  • due for a new CC churn. Been a while since my last.
This seems like one of the better current deals for those just after the $ equivalence of points rather than flights?

    • I’m on this one and just received the points. Been thinking about cashing them in for gift cards as I need a new phone soon and looks like I can swap for around $600 or so in JB Hifi cards or $500 cashback

I feel the annual fee rebate gives better returns on this.. Read in another thread that one can apply multiple annual fee rebates at once..

        • Yeah I got $950 rebate

          • @Ehty: Why would you want that much annual fee rebate? Keeping the card for 9 years?

            • +4

@SBOB: Lol no… if you buy something for $1000 then next month using the rebate you only pay $50 balance

              • @Ehty: Does this definitely work?

                  • @Ehty: Not sure if it's changed but in the Amplify store i can see rebates for: 25, 75, 100, 125, 150, 250 which equals $725 for 145725 points

                    • +1
                      • @Ehty: Oh so you can add multiples of the same amount 😮

                        Epic, thanks!

Edit: I only have enough for 3x $250 at 50000 points each, but $750 is still better than any other options

                        • @Chickenleg: Yeah and with the 6K spend you still get points for the spend also

                          • @Ehty: Yep which I’m way past now, but I’m just wondering if you were perhaps lucky enough to get 180k points from the last deal rather than the current 140k to get that $900 worth of rebate?

                            $250 x3 = 150k points
                            $150 = 30k pints

                            • +1

@Chickenleg: Yeah sorry I got you confused!!

                              • @Ehty: how long the annual fee rebate gets credited once redeemed?

          • @Ehty: How come the rebate is so much than the “$590 egiftcard” which’s advised on the website?

            • @nunuig: Mine was for 180k points deal

  • "redeem 140,000 Altitude Points for $590 in eGift cards"
would "ALTITUDE QANTAS BLACK" be better for 90K Qantas points?

    • Good question.

  • What do people think is the best credit card offer at the moment for someone earning around $100k ?

    • +1

it should be irrelevant of the salary .. but I'm also looking for a new one after closing my Westpac close to 1 year

  • How long will the bonus points gets credited after reaching the minimum spend in real term?

    • Not sure. I haven't reached minimum spend. I would like to know this too.

    • 1-2 days after meeting the spend

      • if more than 2 days should I chase them up?

        • No. You'll just get the general "points will come after 90 days" spill. Not worth your time.

          • -1

@nightelves: so the points will come after 90 days or not at all? what's the game here?

  • Offer not available if you’ve held an Altitude Platinum or Altitude Black card with Altitude Rewards, Qantas or Velocity in the last 12 months.

    AND

    Looks like new application only

  • i dont like the foreign transaction fees on westpac cards

  • 12 months
