Are the natural gas models actually different ? Or do they just have different sized gas jets, that you can replace to convert between the two gas types ?
Different reg. Weber won't even sell you the parts unless you get a licensed gasfitter to order/fit them.
Lame ☹️
got mine at good guys for $400 + 15% cash back.
any offers on weber accessories? looking to buy a half plate for Q3200, Thanks
What do you want the plate for?
Have you tried a hotplate liner?
https://www.bunnings.com.au/matador-non-stick-hotplate-liner…"rated to 280°C" - that's barely any higher than the oven in your kitchen can do, surely the heat from the flames on your barbecue is significantly hotter than that ?
Not sure, maybe don't use these if you crank it up to full heat and close the lid, but I'm sure weber also advise not to do that anyway
I got grill plates but wanted to have half hotplate like this. So you meant I can use this hotplate liner even on the grill
Yes, I use these on my weber q3200 for eggs and anything a little less solid that normally requires a solid plate. Works great
@choofa: Sorry to butt in, great idea with the liner.. will use that.. am planning to purchase a q2200, do they come with the hose to connect to an lpg cylinder or a separate purchase? If so, could you direct me what to buy? Really not familiar with these and am just going through previous comments as basis..
@tikzzz: Yeah it comes with a hose. All very easy!
Guys, I'm looking to get this mini chimney, but they don't ship it to Oz. Any ideas on how to make that happen?
I have someone who lives in Texas, but wondering if cost of shipping (from Tx to Oz) will kill it. It costs over $90 here.Or Ebay https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/313842545625?epid=20034415340&ha… $36.95 with code SNSHOGA
This is our local one for $95.
@lordra: That's not our local one - those sellers are selling you the USA one and shipping it here, hence the prices.
This is the cheapest I can find - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/183788943138 - comes from the UK.
@Nom: Yep, sadly, still waaay over priced. It's a dam piece of metal that the American's pay $30 for. Why do we pay $64? I've been watching it on Amazon as well, it has come down to $61, but that's still too much.
Guess we'll have to wait and see. Weber OZ does not sell this mini chimney here.@lordra: $30 for the item and $34 to ship it to Australia for a total of $64 seems quite reasonable to me.
When you post things internationally, you'll find the minimum cost is like $20 for the very smallest items ! The price goes up very quickly as you add volume to your package.
As you just said, it's not sold in Oz - so you aren't going to be able to buy one here without shipping one here…
Thank you. Those are the full size ones. I need the mini, compact version, which is not easy to come by, unfortunately.
oh, I wasn't aware about the compact size sorry.
can you still use charcoal with these?
Sorry for the stupid question but is Natural gas the same as the gas swap and go cylinders from Bunnings?
Or is that Lpg? I'm a bit confused on the terminology.
Natural gas is the one running through the pipe; LPG is the bottle one.
Weird, and frustrating, that the natural gas models are on sale a lot less often.
