  I have one, connected mouse, keyboard, microphone, webcam and 5v 2a charger but it is very flakey when the webcam is in use. Would recommend to try a different one.

    Same experience with a webcam. Interesting to know additional power didn't fix it in your case.

    Perfectly fine with keyboard, mouse, USB speakers and a security key.

  i have similar like this, i connect it to the a hub (connected to laptop)_but also provide separate power via a micro usb at the back (connected to usb desktop).
  problem is, when i dont use laptop, all usb are turned off. any tricks so i can still use all the ports to charge something without turning off my laptop ?

    If you are just closing the lid and not shutting down the laptop, change the laptop power setting - screen off after x amount of time and sleep to never. It'll keep the connections active.

      damn.. not so good i prefer to shut the laptop completely… but i guess no other options i need to buy another usb desktop power charger or just a cheap usb hub run from it directly

  If you don't need USB 3.0 (e.g. if connecting keyboard, mouse, webcam or printer), the USB 2.0 version is available for $18.89 instead of $31.49.

  I bought a similar one a few weeks ago and although it works great in theory, every so often the connectivity gets a bit flaky, keystrokes get dropped, and some keys get repeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeated. The solution seems to be to unplug the switch from the device for several seconds and plugging it back in. Not sure if this brand has the same intermittent problem.

    I have the same problem with this one but only when the webcam is in use. I even have a 5v 2a supply connected makes no difference.
