  • Even the cheaper boxes are $60 +$10 postage

Not sure what point you’re trying to make.

      Yes, the boxes cost money.

No, this is not a product that qualifies as a “$2 bargain”.

And yes, I am a regular subscriber to MarleySpoon and have found the service to be great, the meals to be delicious - and varied and interesting - and ultimately good value, given that it saves a LOT of hassle with shipping for various ingredients and planning recipes for the week, etc.

I started subscribing during the start of the coronavirus and still subscribe.

They give you the right portions, the right ingredients, it's convenient and the fish and veggie options are satisfying to me

      • No point, just information for people like me to make a quick "Look further into it"/"Hard pass" decision

        • Got it, thanks.

To confirm for anyone reading: This discount does not constitute 90% off.

If your standard is either 90% off or $10 items, then you will be disappointed. Perhaps stick to scrounging for $2 headphones (with free shipping!) on Banggood or AliExpress.

For anyone looking for a deal on a good service, then you might want to consider.

  • I found the vac sealed meat to smell god awful, having tried it on and off the last couple of years. Maybe just my area (inner city Melbourne) but rather stick with Hellofresh or Everyplate.

For anyone reading: The meat is supplied by third party suppliers. I subscribe and have NEVER had a problem. The chicken is supplied by the Lilydale brand, which is a very well-known free range provider.

Sure, the odd delivery based on statistics might have ingredients that have gone bad, or perhaps @user404 got boxes delivered in the morning (by choice) but left them sitting in the sun for 14 hours while out, before getting home and taking inside.

To confirm for anyone with doubt: MarleySpoon does NOT, as a business practice, engage in supplying rotten meat. LOL.

@user404, perhaps your mum used to cook your meals for you when growing up, so you never grew up with the knowledge that meat does have a certain smell to it.

If I sound bitter, then perhaps I am. I just can’t believe we get comments like this and then a suggestion for a preference for a competitor that ALSO provides vacuum-sealed meat.

This sounds like FUD to me. HelloFresh fake account?

      • Might want to take a deep breath, bit of an overreaction there.

It's an opinion based on my experience… I would encourage anyone to try it and form their own view.

Appreciate your positive contribution and well thought out response, you're definitely one switched on operator. I now know who sits out the front of my house waiting for my food deliveries at least…
