I've been enjoying this one as a result of the recent 3 months for $1 promotion. Don't think I'd pay $70 for it though.

After playing heaps of Cricket 19 I was really disappointed with this one. Felt like they really haven't done much to improve on previous efforts.
I don't know why they can't just stick with the same commentators and improve them with each release, rather than starting from scratch again.
The presentation and graphic design is again pretty rough - I don't know why they keep going for cinematic camera angles rather than just going for TV-style presentation.
And of course full of bugs and glitches on release as always, the fielders and keeper animations in particular are pretty bad

  • Is there a version of this game where you can play the legendary Aussie team from the 90s/00s? I'm talking Warne, Waugh's, Gilchrist, McGrath, etc etc… mixed in with commentary from the legends Benaud, Lawry, Grieg, Chappell, etc.

I'm not kidding, this game is a shambles. I purchased it on launch and it was being patched daily (most of which made it worse). Now it's been forgotten about by bigant and there's been no updates for approx 2-3 months. I wouldn't pay $5 for this game in it's current state.

    • That’s incredibly disappointing. Back to Cricket19 it is!

    • Yeah my impression was there were a number of bugs too. Unexplained slow mo, out-of-focus replays, bad camera angles on close catches and I swear not being out when caught on the full (free hit not applicable). The last could just be due to display issues.

      • Also after smashing England in the Ashes three times…the last two simulated matches had England winning them. What the ???

Maybe it simulated the Aussies slacking off after such a convincing win.

      • My brother is thinking they're being caught off the pads. 🤔

      • Well this was quite the conversation topic between us. My view is the game is fun but it's not flawless and I'm not sure I'd pay $69 for it.

My brother (who hasn't played it yet) feels that I'm failing to appreciate the economics of producing a game like this and so it can't be fairly compared to nor expected to follow the price trajectory of Elden Ring, Red Dead Redemption, GTA V, Elder Scrolls or even a good golf game.

I'm playing it on Xbox Game Pass fyi.

  • It's funny how the cycle keeps repeating with cricket games. First EA then codesmaster then that other company which I fail to recollect and now big ant.
All of them had a brilliant first game (probably not EA but their cricket 2002 was solid!) ; a mediocre second outing and then a disastrous 3rd one wherein every aspect that made them great in the first place is done away with.
It's very disappointing. I remember how switched on the guys at big ant were to customer feedback during the Don bradman 14 days. 3 releases later, things seem to have gone backwards.

    • Spot on mate

Cricket games have gone downhill and Ross Symons and big ant should be ashamed of himself. Took the money and ran away, outsourced the development work to amateurs overseas and never looked back. Laughed all the way to the bank once Cricket Australia and ECB paid to be in the game as a licenced for revenue share

      Shame shame shame

Please I pray that EA one day does a new cricket game. Cricket 07 was king
