    • Optional entry.

      • Definite grey area.

I have seen multiple comps where Gleam is used and the WoL entry is presented as entirely optional but who really knows for sure, especially considering some even put in the Ts & Cs that the entirely optional “just for extra tickets” in the lottery that Gleam is supposed to be is actually required and will be judged to determine the winner?

TL;DR - some comp creators entirely misuse the lottery platform that Gleam is supposed to be, which Gleam is totally fine with apparently and how do we know this is any different?

Also a lot of gleam entries are for visiting a page like Youtube or Instagram. After the click you're asked if you subscribed - is a no an automatic disqualification? Who knows.

@ezekiel181: Gleam is definitely a shady competition platform in that regard and the companies don't stipulate what's a required entry or not in their Ts & Cs. We assume a green tick is satisfying the needs of the comp, but it's never certain.

@Lanushi: In many regards, this being just one of them.

The fact the actual draws are almost never performed publicly through a live stream or such and the fact that the “winner’s” screen almost always remains empty are my 2 major hangups with this platform.

Shame too cos I’d prefer to support an Aussie business but their practices in regards to transparency make it basically impossible for me.

@ezekiel181: I literally always assume my entry for a “visit” does not count unless I also follow/like/subscribe to the page it sends me to.

So I ignore the request for just a visit and do just that to be safe.

            Every time.
