Segway Ninebot Kickscooter Air T15 $449.10 ($439.12 with eBay Plus) Delivered @ Luckymi eBay

220
PJULY10PJULY12

A new record low price for this really cool electric scooter from Segway. It's designed to be light weight at only 10.5kg with an automatic folding system and good for short or inner city commutes. For those with kids and don't mind them riding electric scooters, then this isn't a bad option either.

It has a max speed of 20km/h, typical range of 15km, 15° max incline, 300W nominal power, rear wheel drive, puncture free tyres, electronic/press brake, IPX4 water resistance and suitable for people up to 100kg.

For reviews I recommend checking out this short video which covers all the basics and shows it in action. In my opinion I think the customisable front RGB LED strip is pretty cool.

Note that eScooters aren't completely legal in NSW/VIC/SA. The rest of Australia like WA/QLD/TAS can enjoy this legally.

    Where's your bingo card?

  • Hey Clear.,
Do you have this scooter? Im just wanting a quick and lazy answer on charging. Can you carry an adaptor around? Can ypu charge it from a battery pack? Thanks

    • +1

I don't own this one. I used to use a Xiaomi Pro 2 that's a much better scooter, albeit no fancy RGB sadly.

I use to charge it with power banks like this with an power plug. Normally after a ride when my scooter was in the back of my car. I'd get about 15-20% charge.

    • I have this scooter, and I carry the charging adapter to work if I plan to scoot somewhere further afterwards. It's light enough to carry in a backpack, and you definitely need it for any distances more than 10km-15km (depending on your weight / hill incline)

  • Great deal but from the video it seems like a toy, slow and not much range.
You are better off walking if you have that short a commute.
I don’t think it would hold up very long in use either.

Actual range varies on conditions. I recommend it for kids.

Mine goes >10 use to go to work and i'm 95 Kg.

Have this scooter for myself and my partner - both live in Sydney CBD so it works perfect for us.

My partner is about 20kgs lighter than me and has an easier time going up hills and more range, but personally have found it sufficient for commuting to office / home within 5km.

Our main reason for buying it was because you can fold and mount it vertically while charging at home. If you live in an inner city apartment, it's a very important factor to save space.

Yep it's great. Covers the <10km last mile commute nicely and easy to tuck away.

  • 10.5kg there's bicycles lighter

  • Anything around the same weight but has 20km range?

I'm looking forward to the next gen Segway scooters coming to Australia "soon", the GT1 and GT2
They're not cheap, the cheaper GT1 model will sell in Australia for AU$4,799, but the safety features are like reading a cars safety features in a brochure.
I'm looking forward to an OzBargain post in a year or two stating that the GT1 is on sale, $1,000 or 25% off, yes my dreams are meagre!!

That seems like a ridiculous design and waste of money, I don't know where to start

      • +2

Hey that's OK, each to their own, but a lot of the electric scooter community are very excited about it.
If you "don't know where to start" and you want to complain more about it here's a review on both scooters,

It's very impressive I'll give you that. It would be exciting to watch people go around closed circuits. But it has no place being anywhere near cars or pedestrians. Loose your balance for any number of reasons at 50kmph and the results will not be good for the rider or the people around. It makes any complaints of cyclists being on the road tame in comparison.

  • I was curious about these for a while, but recently was able to get hands on with one.

It's small yet heavy, feels cheap, wheels are absurdly tiny, its basically a bare minimum product. Unless you're buying for driveway laps, avoid IMO

  • What are puncture free tyres? Are they solid rubber?

  • Bought one last time at jb, its totally useless unless you plan to use on smooth indoor style surfaces without elevations. People will be laughing at you because you're gonna ride slower than someone walking with any slight elevations even at max setting. Might be faster for kids. I'm about 75kg.

    • +1

Hmmm i'm 95Kg goes up to 20k on even horizontal surface and as low as 12k inclined surface.

  • Why aren't they legal? and in what way?

  • If you are looking something sporty this is not it.
If you are after long range this is not it.
If you are after speed this is not it.
I use it purely to bring me to work a little bit quicker but not quick like bike scooter. With its flat fold format I can hide it nearly everywhere.

    • what's a bike scooter? I've been using those Neuron ones and 15 kms and hour feels too slow for me. What would you recommend?

      • +1

More like road bike scooters. Do not know what to recommend but my segway Air T15 is just to make my walking from 20 mins to 10 mins. Very compact but losing comfort as it is not soft ride.

  • I've been using those Neuron ones and 15 kms and hour feels too slow for me. What would you recommend?

  • NSW is illegal in Victoria.
