I have a few of these stuck on my side fence. What breaks on them?
The plastic breaks down extremely fast and becomes brittle.
once this happens moisture gets in and the solar panels go cloudy and no longer change the batteries properly.
Lots of people have tried to silicon them in the hope they last longer but the are just made far too cheaply to withstand an Aussie summer.Which ones do you recommend then? I need a set asap:)
@kley78: I am using these kogan ones and am pretty happy so far.
Just keep them out of direct sunlight, put them under your eves, there's still enough light to keep them toped up, as long as they're not turning on all night and just here and there when you walk around.
@subwars: I did this, sealed it up, and the battery died.
Got a replacement.. battery died.
These are landfill. Don't buy
CCC
Already OOS :(
I joined waitlist and got offered 1, 10 mins later.
i use them as night lights around the house,
and take them outside for a charge once a week.
Dont buy dodge dodge dodge product!
Agreed…extremely poor. The internals aren't suitable for charging lithium batteries and kill them.
price has gone up…
You would be lucky to get 3 months out of them in summer, especially if it rains in between.
