  • In the cooldown period, otherwise would've jumped on this

  • A great card, but only 15k in frequent flyer points if converted.

If your eligible for bonus points there are better cards to get a larger bonus, eg Explorer for 100k reward points or Qantas/Virgin for 100k frequent flyer points.

    • Best off getting a frequent flyer focused card if FF points is your jam.

    • Hhmm interested in Explorer with $400 travel credit, does it have to be used in one go/purchase? E.g if i book a hotel for $300 so the remaining $100 will be forfeited or can be used for next purchases?

      • +1

Forfeited if not used in one go.

        • Makes sense, thanks

  • Points are worth about $150 (in gift cards) for this credit card, meaning total profit for the card is $350 - $195 annual fee = +$155.

A better deal would be the Amex Essential if your just in it for the points then close the card, it has a lower minimum income of $40K and gives $200 cash back with no annual fee meaning a profit of +$200.
