I purchased Hisense tv (this model: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/709836) recently. It has its own system and doesn't have Google play store, which means it lacks access to several apps which don't come with it as default. Which is the most economical device to use with the tv to access a broader range of apps? I guess Amazon Firestick or some device like this (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/363194142007) should work but being new to this area, I don't have much knowledge and pros and cons of all options. I will appreciate your suggestions.

Wait for $54 4k firestick deal
Google TV seems to be the most popular device. Under $90 most of the time.
Love the Google TV. The 4gb storage sucks. Real design mistep. Worked around by plugging in a usb hub with additional storage. Perfect! 😁
I have this tv too. I use Chromecast. Works a treat.
It means you have all your non-default channel apps (and other apps) on your mobile and then you cast them using Chromecast when you want to watch any?
Google TV with Chromecast does it all in the same device.
Once I got a Chromecast with Google tv, I can't go back to using my old Chromecast. Hated the hassle of going through my phone to cast something or change shows etc.
I have both Chromecast and Amazon firestick, I prefer the Chromecast version for ease of use. Also has a dedicated menu option so you can quick launch the remote without unlocking your phone (android/Samsung anyway dno about iPhone) - super handy if you have young kids. But firestick is good too. probably best if you stick to whatever home hub (google/alexa) system you have
I don't have any home hub system but I do use Android phones so it may make sense to use Google product - however let's say if Google tv is for $100 and Amazon Firestick for $59, I will go for the latter just for the value for money. Btw, can you please link the Google tv product you are referring to (just in case it has multiple versions)? I will have a look. Thanks.
It's this one https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/chromecast-with-google-…
There were some pretty good deals lately, if you are not in a rush. I think asking my google assistant to turn on and off the TV for years (however long it lasts) is worth a $20-30 difference haha.
I have the Chromecast with Google TV and Firestick 4K, I prefer the Chromecast. Firestick doesn't have Binge or Kayo in app store.
Luckily Binge and Kayo are default apps in Hisense but then it doesn't have many others.
Firestick 4k works great on my 65".
Wait for prime day and grab one cheaper.
I've used mi boxes, voda box and nvidia shield. I reckon the firestick is my favourite.
