290

Kmart have another Anko PS5 dual controller charging dock on sale like the $3 version. This one lies flat and there's a display which goes green when the controller is fully charged and red when it's charging. There are two detachable USB-C adapters that you can plug into the controllers and a USB-C cable comes included.

It's not available online, however you can view the manual here.

  • Output Voltage: DC 5V/600mA*2

That's too low for the DualSense which needs 1500 mA minimum. Don't recommend using this at all.

No that's the maximum it can take and not the minimum. It'll charge it fine, just not as fast.

Hmm, some 5V 1A wall chargers don't seem to work on the DualSense at all.

        • +1

If it was 1.5A minimum then Kmart would be selling a charging dock that doesn't work at all. This is obviously not the case. There must be some kind of incompatibility with the wall chargers you're using.

        • A lot of chargers won't. Same with the PS4. Just one of those annoying Sony things

        • Because those chargers don't provide enough voltage to trigger charging state on dualsense (The voltage can be over 5V but not high enough). Normally, all chargers with fast charge compatibility should work on dualsense cuz they usually have higer voltages when charging on 5V mode.

  • I wouldn't call it a display but an indicator.

  • Got both chargers. They work well, doesn't charge as fast as the official one, but nice to have. LED stand is awesome.

Rrp was $5 lol these would be rubbish

  • Kmart Summerhill has 17 in stock, along with controller skins for $2 and 1500mah controller battery packs for $5

    • are the battery backs for Xbox?

Spend $150 on controllers and risk damaging them by spending only $2 on a dock <face palm>

    • And how will this damage them?

      • -2

They use the USB-C port on top instead of the metal contacts on the bottom. Plugging in and out can damage the port hole or contacts. QC will be lower and with anything electrical there’s always a risk. Likely no charging management circuitry.

You might be lucky and never have an issue. You might be unlucky and this dock fries the controller battery. At the very least this dock charges slower.

$2 is worth it for the adapters and the cable. Personally, I’d spend $40+ on the official dock for a better user experience and for something that’s likely to last the 7 year generation length.

Although this dock is slightly different the video explains some similar issues.
