  • these any good for fps gaming?

    • +2

Yeah love mine although sometimes the blacks are pretty bad. But for casual its fine

  • How does this monitor compare to the AOC 24g2?

  • What's the HDMI spec?

  • What is the equivalent 32" or 34". Confused with all the models available

  • This or the Gigabyte G24F?

    • Gigabyte, which is a rare thing to say about the brand until recently.

      • What makes the gigabyte better? Hears they had coil whine issues

        • $24 cheaper from BPCTECH ($179 delivered), better colour, slightly dimmer, similar response time.

NVM it is sold out at BPCTECH

        • I 'heard' the same early on, but I don't believe there's been any issues since the first batch or so.

        • from my own personal experience,
gigabyte motherboards have poor QA/Quality control

          I wouldn't trust their monitors

      • 120% srgb though compared to this 99%

        • You can clamp gamut if needed, and eventually there'll be a standard that correctly utilises the extended gamut.

Honestly should I jsut budget up and just buy a 1080p mointor and go for cheaper graphic cards I don't know anymore

    • For what it’s worth I’m running 240hz and 360hz 1080p screens on 6900s and a 3080. We have an LG oled but none of the cards are fantastic at getting 100fps+ in 4K, any res above about 2880x1620 is lacking performance for many newer games. I would suggest 240hz+ is overkill for most uses, 140-160 would be just as good. I’m happy with ~120+ fps and cheaper cards can easily do that in most games in 1080p plus if you have extra performance you can use down sampling to make even more jaggies go away

    • A few years ago I gave up on having a PC just for games and web stuff. I now use an okay 40" 4K Hisense TV with my PC for all the things. Sure, it's uncomfortably big to use for web browsing, but having an all-in-one system when living alone in a unit is worth it for me.

Title is misleading. Should say Gsync compatible, not Gsync

    • Can only use so many words

      • +2

Fair. In that case saying “freesync” is a truer statement than saying “gsync”

  • is IPS panel the best for gaming monitors?

    • Generally yes, due to faster response. TV is better with VA panel for contrast ratio.

      • what about ips glow which would look crap where there is dark scenes

  • Nice size for $200?

  • good monitor for its value
