This seems like the lowest available at the moment! Of course they've dropped to $999 recently, so it's not the best deal so far, but for people looking to pick one up now it's a great price in my opinion! Shipping is 20-30$ for most options, or free pickup in Glen Waverly.

Obviously people weren't hodling. Those greedy selfish americanized millennials couldn't help themselves and had to self indugle. They don't have a bone of self restraint/hodl in them. A lot of millennial loners (with a complacent capitalist mindset) earning over 90k running it for everyone else.

I'm not going to argue that this is or is not a good deal. But this is a consistent flaw in value estimation that hold people back in everyday life from buying a house to investing in shares or even buying a GPU (if they need one now). That is the tendency to pass up a good deal because they once saw an awesome deal. The past is not always a good enough indicator of current or future value. That said, I can guarantee if you wait long enough you'll be able to get these sub $500, all you need to do is just keep looking into the past to reinforce your decision to HODL! Then at some point you'll fork out 2x the price for a new GPU because the one you perpetually waited for is now superseded :)
In this particular instance I definitely think these will head sub $1k pretty soon though.
I agree with what you're saying to a certain extent, but the next generation of GPUs is out in a few months with 60-100% performance increases over the existing line-up. This puts a hard price cap on the 6900 XT and 3090 of <$900 AUD (or w/e the 4070 costs). The 3090 might be worth slightly more due to its high memory bandwidth.

Remember this is a flagship GPU - should have been around this from the start.
3090 should be 1.1-1.2k or so and a 3080 shouldn't be more then $650 or so.
It'll never be. Because the average person buying this still defends the price gouging Nvidia bought in for the 2000 series for no real reason.
Anyway upvoting for a non-insane flagship GPU price..
Umart's current deal on a 3060 Ti doesn't seem to have sold out after several days now, so I'm not so sure the average person is willing to pay high prices unless they absolutely need a new GPU. A lot of the high pricing seems to have been due to mining, which is now apparently ending, and the unfortunate people without the option to wait through all that.
Glad I cancelled my order for this card on Amazon back in April when it was $1599.

Literally laughing I come on here 12hrs later refresh the page and no $400 6600xt/<$600 6700xt. As I expected this $1100 6900xt is still be the only thing available.
Retailers are snakes. Prices are $100 up on everything due to people using their tax to buy. With the increased demand they've gone back to their old ways. Next week they'll be desperate to clear stock again.
Just hodl and make them hurt. Only thing to watch out for is another crypto boom (won't happen yet).
