Both a bargain in my book

Red Rooster chips are number 1 on my fast food chip tier list. KFC would be best if they didn't go soggy so fast

      • +1

agreed but personally i would rank HJ chips #2 & KFC #3 (excluding any independent stores of course, ironically a local pizza place does crap pizza but awesome chips)

  • +4

Their chips are really good, their gravy is poo

    • +11

everyone is entitled to an opinion but you are WRONG!

      • +6

About the chips or the poo?

      • Obviously tastes differ, maybe I just got unlucky when I had some. Was like a stone, hardly liquid and tasted like I don't even know what

        • +1

ah yes, never had it like that. Would suggest you defs try again. Most of Brisbane do a quality gravy.

          • +5

@Ronke23: We take inspiration from our lovely river.

            • @Daabido: Yeah! I mean, the Brisbane river has certain Ankh-Morporkian properties, but it's not so bad that we can walk across it.. yet.

Remember the good old days when you could get $2 children and chips every Tuesday (from memory). Bring that back!

          • +5

@Shane33: Yep that’s it. The good old days, just like the Pizza Hut $5 all you can eat dine in. How I loved growing up in the 80s and 90s.

@cookie2: And the apple pizza at the desert bar covered with the soft serve ice cream.

$2 for a child is an absolute bargain

  • WA? No love? Wonder why our chips are special/not special

Does Hungry Jack still have the $2 chips offer?

    • +3

Yeah. Medium. Which is only slightly bigger than small.

      • +1

        That's what she said
        Lol

      • The box might be bigger, but in most cases you get less chips.

I grabbed a small (from a docket deal) and the $2 medium, took them home to eat and decided to weigh them for the lols. The small weighed 67g and the medium weighed 65 grams, I even took photos to try and complain but the website is so garbage I couldn't haha. Both still in packaging (paper should weigh less than cardboard right??)

Wish maccas was still doing $1 small chips :(.

        • +1

According to nutrition guide, small is 90g vs medium at 116g. Interesting they were only 60ish

          • @Rain Cloud: Interesting, you wouldn't happen to know the mcdonalds weights? I tried to search for them but the best I've found was international youtube videos.

I wished they weighed them like dominoes are supposed to for their chips, rather than 'scoop and hope'.

            • +1

@A-mak: Maccas small-72g; large 130g. Thats what they listed anyway, never actually weighed them

              Fyi, kfc regular-120g; large 240g. RR regular-136g; large 226g
