I just picked up some of these sheets at Robina QLD and I assume its australia wide. I bought a set 1 month ago and they are heavenly. There was a Facebook offer going around last night for this which says you need to show the deal email to receive the deal but it is not required.

Have you ever wondered what’s in your 400 thread count sheets? Or why your 350 thread count sheets feel coarser than those with a lower thread count? CHOICE has discovered this popular marketing term carries little credibility, since canny manufacturers effectively “double count” the threads to claim a premium product.
Thread count refers to the total number of threads on a piece of fabric. The common belief is that the higher the thread count, the higher the quality of fabric. In reality, it is a ploy used by manufacturers to segment their products and charge consumers a premium for products with a high thread count – some as high as 1000.

500 good threads > 1000 crappy threads.
That said, I've not tried the Target ones.
We have the target 1200s and they feel really nice!
I can't tell the difference between them and our Sheridan 1000+ ones, and the price is right too :)
I thought my target 1200's were coarse.
I have 1000's. They're perfect, feels just like cotton. I won't say it's soft or smooth like silk because it's thick but I like the natural cotton feel.
I've retired my sheridan sheets now - in my humble opinion these are so much better
I would love to get some but most of them are sets right? I rarely use the flat sheets..
Yes they are sets - I don't usually use the flat sheets however since I tried these sheets I love the feel so I use the top sheet as well :D
I have the old 400TC Egyptian cotton sheets from Target, as soft as silk and still like new after 9 years of use. Best thing I ever bought. Purchased two sets and haven't opened the second one yet!
Hmmmmm… to upgrade or not?
More threads can imply mean finer, softer fibres (this is the whole concept of counting threads) or it can just mean THICKER.
Sounds like these are fairly thick sheets from comments above?
Just managed to get one queen set of 1200. Fantastic quality at a fantastic price. Thank you so much for the heads up!
only had 3 in queen size only at my target unfortunately. good bargain, they felt quite thick and warm too.
I would not recommend any sheet with TC above 1000. They are VERY heavy (a 1000 TC sheet is twice the weight of a 500 TC). In summer you will be sweating very badly. Anything over 500 TC is pointless IMO.
