    I’ll just say.

    Best bag I’ve ever owned.

    • +42

At that price, it would want to be!

      • +9

At that price I'd want to give me regular reach arounds.

        • How do you give yourself a reach around???

        • +1

I was going to ask this

          • @Budju: Arm under your thigh, I suppose. Kind of awkward. I'll stick to sitting on my hand to go numb and giving myself a "stranger"

    • Coming from a f-stop tilopa, I'd love to try this simply for its smaller profile but just don't know if I'd be happy with the limited slotting system.

Great reviews don't get me wrong, just curious if there's any who switched from f-stop. It is quite disappointing to the hip straps are an optional item.

      • +2

I've got it (and a lot of other PD stuff including their new mobile system). Would not recommend it as an overnight bag to store clothes. It's bulky and heavy. On the other hand, that gives the contents great protection and build quality is superb - better than my Lowepro stuff. I like the origami divider system too.

Just keep in mind that while it advertises itself as for non camera uses as well, it's primarily for cameras so had the bulk needed to protect such gear.

        • Just saved me some coin! Thanks!

    • +1

Would you recommend it for non-photographers? I really like the features, fabric and warranty (which suggests good build quality), but don’t need the shelves. Is it impractical as an overnight carry-on for clothes and shoes etc?

      • +5

It’s overpriced if you’re not going to use its features… it’s also extra weight, etc.

      • +1

I don't use it for photography. It's a great bag.

      • +1

See my reply above - replied to wrong comment before!

  • +1

Oh man, that is an EXCELLENT price. I thought the $428 I posted the other day was good, but this is the cheapest I've ever seen it.

This, or the Dell Essential Backpack 15? (fewer frills)

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/70611

    • +3

Well, depends. Do you want a camera bag or laptop bag? Do you want weatherproofing? Lifetime warranty or 1 year…

  • -2

I thought it was one of those ugly bodybuilder meal bags 🤣🤣🤣

I guess it looks like it holds items well inside tho!

    • +1

How well does a 6600XT carry your tech and gear?

    • +1

The backpack can take more beating than a flimsy 6600xt.

      • -3

That's what she said, i've never been so negged in my whole ozbargain career. What happen you people. It's a backpack priced at almost $400 lol

        • +4

You complain about expensive bag, yet mentioned gucci and non-related pc component. Talk about daft.

          • -3

@ddhar: Lighten your load, we all here to snag a bargain. Enjoy life, as we come from a land down below!

  • +3

Anyone seen Linus Tech Tips new backpack coming out? I'm tossing up between that and this as my everyday carry around tech bag.

    • +1

Yep waiting for it to drop hope it’s as premium as this

      • +3

Also want to get his screwdriver, hopefully I can get both at once as they both seem quite awesome.

        • Have you purchased from LTT before? Are there any issues with GST?

          • +1

@lazybones1987: Nah, I have wanted too for a long time but I plan on just doing a big bulk purchase to save on shipping.

    • Looking at the layout, this looks more camera gear focused, whereas the LTT backpack is more of a general tech bag.

      • I agree, but as a general bag user I'm a big fan of the idea of having side access to my bag it seems so good.

  • i was going to get the dell backpack, but this is a better deal. can't wait to get it.

  • Will this work as a travel backpack? I will use it to carry two camera bodies but also would like to store other stuff in it.

    • +2

I can easily travel 4-5 days before this pack becomes limiting. The easy access to the different compartments make it very useful when travelling, going through customs, on a plane, etc. I have nothing but good things to say about this bag.

    • +2

I got it for this reason - most camera bags are designed only for camera gear. I wanted something I could store my laptop, a jumper or light jacket in, plus other little travel bits and pieces. It serves this role well. That said, it's pretty chunky so not great it you like to walk around cities with a light load. I use this PD bag as my carry on for planes and also if going somewhere where my camera gear might get knocked about.

But otherwise for day outings on holidays I turn to the flimsier but much lighter and more discrete Lowepro sling which fits what I need including a bottle (though not a laptop, which I don't need for day trips) .

  • +2

I'm just not sure if it's the right bag to hold my gold bullion, conflict diamonds and stacks of cash.

    • +2

      don't forget your lettuce

  • I'm actually looking for the Everyday Sling Bag 3L, but in black.

Ash is $109.48, if that's your colour: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/255495798572

  • +8

Those shocked by the price clearly haven't shipped for premium, well made bags, with peak designs reputation for quality or just the cost of camera bags in general.

    • +7

      Spotted the ignoramus

    • +4

on god this guy is stupid af

  • I really want to buy this bag but the lack of a spot for a decent sized tripod is off-putting. I found this review really insightful: https://youtu.be/znJHlY6SZu8

    • +2

He literally shows a tripod on the side at 1:10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znJHlY6SZu8&t=70s

The bag looks small for the tripod is because he was reviewing the 20L version.

Anyway, always prefer messenger bags over backpack for quick access.

      • He also talks about how to carry a larger tripod with the external straps from 1:50 into the review, shows a larger tripod at 2:20 on the sides and shows a tripod being slung under the bag at 2:37…

  • I have the Peak Design Everyday Backpack V1 20L. The shoulder straps are very uncomfortable, I hope they resolved this in the V2 bags. I was using this bag for everything but now I just take the cheap Asus bag that I got from here, it's much more comfortable.

    • The shoulder straps were improved on the V2, still not great at full load IMO but a significant improvement from the V1.

      • I got the wandrd prvke and v1 30l. I always find myself going for the wandrd more often for trips. I did hike with the v1peak and that was ok for me ..

  • +1

I'd Much prefer a Crumpler Bag, Lifetime warranty, cheaper and would definately be alot more comfortable.

  • +7

Have used a V1 20L as my everyday bag for a few years now. Love that you can access a camera and a couple of lenses from the side flaps; can mix and match photography kit with boring everyday stuff.

Everything is very well protected, including laptop pouch, which is great after I dented a laptop in a previous bag. Heaps of pockets in the side flaps to organise odds and ends.

Materials and construction quality are top notch. I’ve spent at least a few hundred days out with the bag and it still looks near new, other than a few scuffs.

I personally find it pretty comfortable, although some other commenters here seem to disagree. The straps are pretty firm, so I can see how it’d be uncomfortable if it didn’t fit your body shape. Supposed to be fixed on the V2.

The price initially sounds ridiculous, but when comparing it to bags around $100-200, it really does feel like there’s easily 2 or 3 times more material and manufacturing costs that have gone into it.

    TL;DR, 10/10 bag, would recommend.

Got a notice saying that they oversold and the product is on backorder, I was probably one of the first people to order it too!

  • Hmm…just to let know…mine 30l shipped today, expecting tomorrow!

    • Let me know if you actually get the right model of backpack mine wasn't correct.

      • Well luckily my came fine… 30l midnight blue

  • Did anyone else get sent an ultra zip instead of the actual every day backpack V2 20L? I have initiated a return.

  • Same here Draco - Ordered the Everyday backpack and received the significantly cheaper and wrong zip version instead.

Not sure if this was a bait and switch or a genuine mistake.

    • Seems like a genuine error I set up a return and the SKU seem to have only a very slight difference.

Must have been the work experience guy in the warehouse

  • Got a notification that my backorder shipped.
