If the hub/software supports Audio notifications via Google Cast, then sure it can.
Not sure about the Xiaomi, but I've done it with Home Assistant, Hubitat and HomeSeer before.
What does this have that the gen1 doesn't? I like the usb charging port from the gen1.
Has the dock connector instead of a USB port.. The dock has a night light, qi wireless charging and a USB port on the back but is obviously more than this..
Seems you can get them for under $100 on eBay atm.
Some disadvantages with this:
- Google Duo doesn’t work on this. Can only make outgoings calls using some Google number service available in US/Canada only.
- doesn’t work with non-Google security cameras. If it’s connected to a Google security camera, then you can view the camera shots on this device.
If anyone know of any firmware updates which invalidates the above, let me know!

With the camera, I think it needs to be a google branded camera, rather than any brand which supports google home.
Can always hope for a firmware update from lenovo!
