Xiaomi Mi 4in1 Smart Home Hub (Door Sensor, Switch, Temp and Hub) $34.95 + $9.90 Delivery ($0 SYD, ADL C&C) @ PCByte

210

Also available on ebay for $44 delivered with SAFY20 or $43 with PLUSFY22 here.

At roughly $11 an item, I think it's a good deal.

Includes 1. hub, 2. door/window sensor, 3. temp/humidity sensor and 4. a switch.

Looks like a great starter pack. Hub is Zigbee 2 and 3, 2.4Ghz Wifi and Bluetooth. I've made a Xiaomi temp sensor work with an Aliexpress hub without any problems. And the Xiaomi sensor I have seems to be of sound quality.

With a couple of bulbs and maybe an IR hub, there's lots you can do with this.

  • Are these global version or China mainland only?

  • can the hub make any siren if say the door sensor is tripped?

    • I think the door sensor tells the hub which will them tell your phone or computer.

The hub could also send a message straight to a siren, but you'd have to buy one.

I can't recall seeing a smart siren but I'm sure they must exist.

Yes, the hub has a speaker which can emit a siren-like noise when door sensor is tripped

      • It would appear that the v3 hub does not.

From the picture where it has all devices, it seems to suggest that it's a v3. But the individual picture shows the v2 hub (with the speaker holes).

It's kind of a gamble, but worst case scenario, I'll probably get the xiaomi smart speaker to work with it.

        • Sorry, I didn't realise, I've got two v1 hubs which I don't use anymore :(

    • Got this one and it only beeps, no siren or tunes.

  • I already have one hub but it's seems to have limited range and one of my outdoor sensor often looses connection, wondering if I can connect two hubs to extend range / cover whole home?

You need a light bulb or something mains powered in between to create a mesh network. You can't join hubs unfortunately. A Xiaomi smart zigbee plug would also work to create a mesh network.

  • Connectable to hubitat?

  • Been using this for 3yrs now, so far so good

    Mine could be v1

    • I've had mine for 3 years too, but after resetting it last week, it won't connect anymore.

      • Careful not to update firmware, it happened to my xiaofang camera..

        • Same issue with my camera. Any way to resolve this?

          • @Augh: I google and found a way to manually downgrade it's software.
But xiaofang is not stable at all, always lost connection to the hub, I have up

Any other affordable cameras to recommend?

        • One of my friend got the same, but my two Xiaofangs and one Dafang have been updated to the latest version, they are all working fine. Dafang has not been used for a long time, I just updated it now.
