I am just wondering, what is this link, some sort of a referral program?

      • -3

        Yep, Looks like it

      • I just copied from the Amazon app, don't have a referral account with Amazon anymore.

      • It's the share link format from the Amazon app now.

    • Sorry, for the suspicion. Ty for sorting it out, moderator.

The game might be fun with kids, but if you're even slightly competitive you might find the game dull. Basically, the entire game is intentionally rigged, and it doesn't matter how much effort you put in, it has very little outcome over the actual end result. And the game makes this very clear to you.

  • Any idea why it says this on Amazon?:
"The product is new and may not come sealed"

Some pictures also showing that they case was not sealed and had no booklet.

    • +3

When had the last timea game had a booklet?
Also 1st party Nintendo games don't get sealed in Australia. Assume the note is from Amazon to stop people annoying them and returning games for no reason.

      • Ah I wasn't sure, girlfriend just bought a switch and was gonna get her as a gift - didn't realise games don't have booklets anymore (I play PC so pretty much always buy games digitally).

Also didn't know about Nintendo games not being sealed!

        • The no booklet is a joy for my OCD if buying second hand. Don't have to worry about picking up a copy that is not complete. Haha.

        • Sorry, that came across a bit snarky.
(At least the thing about the game sealing was just meant to be informational)

I've asked the nintendo australia and got a response like

      "Nintendo Consumer Support commented:

      Dear fab boy,

      Thank you for your enquiry.

Generally products distributed by Nintendo of Australia are not sealed. The same may not be true of games and products distributed by 3rd part publishers or accessory manufacturers and some retailers may choose to seal or wrap their Nintendo products themselves.

      Kind regards,

      Alex

      Nintendo Consumer Support

Nintendo Consumer Support operating hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday AEST."

    Buy first, think later
Kept missing the past deals via Amazon
    Thanks OP ๐Ÿ™

  • I think Amazon has free delivery for purchases over $39.

  • Is this game any good?

    • +2

The minigames are great fun - often times my friends and I just play those instead of the main boardgame

  • I have a few questions about the multiplayer, do many people play the online and how is the connection?

    • Iโ€™ve played online a few times, and itโ€™s fine. No noticeable lag or anything

      • Quick to find a game?

        • -1

Fairly. The biggest worry is people leaving the game midway.

  • I ordered via HN before Amazon price matched, anyone know if it's easy to cancel HN orders? It was delivery so I don't have a store to directly call and I can't find a help phone number for online orders?

    • I ordered via HN… if it's easy… I can't find a help phone number…

      Are you new here? ๐Ÿ˜…

      • +1

Guess I'm in trouble with my order then ๐Ÿ˜‚ well let's see if I can get a refund.

        • +2

Lol good luck, there's a reason everyone hates gerry

        • +1

Go online chat and ask them which store is assigned for your order, then try to call the store yourself to ask them to cancel it. If you wait for the store to read the email sent from their chat operator, most likely they will ignore. YMMV.

          • @akte: Good idea, thank you I'll try this!

            • +1

@slideaway: In conclusion, it was easier to cancel my Amazon order, oh well.

  • Is it better to buy a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller or another set of the Joy-Con controller if I want to buy multi player games so my friend can play with me?

    • +1

I went with Pro Controller first, then ended up with a second pair of Joy-cons.

Pro Controller has the benefit of being a great tactile controller, and the ideal way to play docked.

Joy-cons have the benefits of providing more controllers for larger parties (if you don't mind playing with individual Joy-cons rather than a full controller) and then being an inevitable back-up for when your OG Joy-cons get the dreaded drift. Joy-cons are also much cooler to customise - the purple and orange set is ๐Ÿ‘Œ

      • Thanks mate I'm new to this.. so obviously the Pro Controller can only be used by one person - but are you saying that a pair of Joy-Con controllers can be split so that 2 people can use 1 each to play with?

        • +1

          Yep

    • +3

I've been raving about these https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/697489 I'm extremely impressed with them and so much cheaper than joycons and pro controllers.

      • +1. I have this exact controller and it is awesome. So cheap and no complaints but I'm not a competitive gamer. Not sure how you'd go on street fighter or smash.

The Legend of Zelda Links Awakening is on sale too at $53 on both Harvey Norman and Amazon

  • Man I want Rayman to go on sale again!!

  • +2

Got excited then realised i already have it lol

    • +3

Let me guess, if you are anything like me, you STILL won't end up playing it for months. :)

      • ahh yes, consumerism.

  • Is this any good as a single player game?

    • +5

Have you been to a single person party before? Was it good?

      • +1

        Good point lol

        • You can play against the CPU if you like I suppose…

    • Absolutely not.

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Good first post.

    Unnecessary request

Get it from Amazon… It's taken me nearly 2 months to get my money back from HN after Kirby apparently became OOS.
And even then, I had to do it through PayPal resolution dispute!

  • +1

Amazon is out of stock but HN is got stock

  • Both stores out of stock now :(

  • Boooo missed it again. Dammit!

    • +1

damn it when i dont check oz bargain for few hours then this game get up then when im checking every 15mins it doesnt hahaha so i can relate

  • If given a choice between a physical cartridge game or digital game for the same price, what is better to get? I guess cartridge game can be resold once you've had enough, but digital games that you download to your device can't be resold?

    • +1

I prefer physical. Can lend, swap and sell. Yes more landfill at the end of the day but often cheaper and I always seem to be at my limit with memory.

    • +1

I prefer digital. I never sell them so the ability to just play what I want without carrying a bunch of carts is worth it to me.
