Anyone looking to buy a laptop soon should check out the good guys. They're clearing out a lot of their display models at the moment

  • I can't decide between the 8GB version and the x2 11 from Jb ($599). Anyone have advice between these two?

Edit: get this. Oled and 13.3 for a cheap price

      • There's 2 types of oled
One from samsung and the other from hongshing
This one sounds like it's from there

        • Nah yeah the oled is pretty bad on this, pentile arrangement and I personally found it wasn't very sharp on text.

It's still good for video imo, no better screen at this size and price range for media atleast.

I saw the HP, but after having 2 really shtty laptops from them 10 year ish ago, really turned me off them. Wonder if their stuff now is better

    • X2 has 4g no oled smaller screen Kardon sound very heavy wobbly keyboard SD7c

    • I'm in a similar situation, however currently have a Duet and the HP x2 is 11" vs 10" which the original duet is.
So im leaning towards the Duet 5 due to the larger screen

    • The OLED screen is nice, but really regret the 8GB Duet.

      • Why, what should you have got instead?

        • Something with either Windows or regular Android. The Duet hardware is ok except for having no bezel so using it like a tablet is difficult without clicking on the screen. But the real letdown was the Chromebook OS, buggy apps etc.

          • @LowRange: Probably depends on your use-case. I got the previous model (Chromebook Duet 2) for my 12yo daughter last year and she absolutely loves it over her previous Teclast / Lenovo tablets. That said her use is probably 90% games (mostly Roblox) and 10% homework.

    Is new model coming out?

Yall know that Google is an advertising company. Right?

  • You can get a 2020 Lenovo Duet for much less - $299 from various places, $297 from Officeworks. Link with description:

Downsides here are no headphone jack, one USB-C port, slow processor, slow eMMc memory, tight keyboard, Chrome and Google tiein. But insanely good battery life.

    Still, it's not an Ollee.

It’s also a smaller screen as well, different model

  • I bought the 8gb duet 5 last week at around this price. Happy with the 8gb but it's def not as fast as a Chromebook with an i5 - don't think the 4gb would be ok.

This reviews better than the X2 for those looking at the hp
