Link to smart charger for $4 more?
Is this one a dumb charger? I have one from Panasonic, not sure whether it's the same model as this one, which doesn't care for battery level, just charges
Sure is. All chargers that take more than eight hours to charge the batteries are dumb chargers, designed to damage your batteries.
Don't do it. You'll eventually end up with mismatched baterries as this charger doesn't charge them individually. Go and buy the smart&quick version.
Any recommendations on a good charger that accommodates both AA and AAA? Low cost options only please.
Panasonic Smart & Quick at $32 Amazon/Bing Lee if you're fine with 4 bays.

Why not pay $4 more for a much faster charger that doesn't run on a timer?
