What is 3k touch?
3K instead of 4K and touch as in touch screen!
Once you try this supersharp 3:2 aspect ratio screen you won't want to go back to 16:9.
If you want to increase productivity 3:2 is the way to go.Similar aspect ratio found in Microsoft Surface(3:2) and Apple Macbooks(16:10).
Some Dell XPS, Lenovo X1 and Yoga also sports such ratio.
Please note this is 2020 version matebook X pro, new released version is 2022 matebook X pro. Great price for old version of top specs model, MS must be clearance sale for old version.
I thought it's the 2021 model and not 2020. Can you confirm?
It is 2021 model:
https://consumer.huawei.com/en/laptops/matebook-x-pro-2021/s…
So sad the 2022 model also with 11th gen cpu
Anyone know if the OS can be upgraded to win 11 or pro version?
No reason why it shouldn't as far as I can tell. It meets all the minimum requirements and compatible processors list.
Damn. Paid $1699 for this one last month!
It was marked $1999 and the click frenzy event got it down to $1699.
And now its marked price is $1699!
I should have waited for just a bit longer.
The 3k touch screen is pretty good(the screen capture feature is very handy!) but the camera is a bit wired. It is light weighted and powerful for its size.
Also, you will almost definitely need a hub/dock for more sockets as it only has one USB-A and 2 USB-C(one will be used for charging). And no HDMI or Ethernet sockets. How is the webcam ? I see in the reviews it is in the keyboard ??????
Yep. It shows my double chin clearly when it is in use.
The only good side is that it saves me the money for a webcam sticker:)Hi Does this come with the matedock? Do I need to buy a dock separately? Thanks
Hi Does this come with the matedock? Do I need to buy a dock separately? Thanks
No,it doesn't come with matedock. I recommend to buy a dock.
Thanks mate I will buy one
Hi newsanzang, you can try to message MS eBay for a price match, see what they can do, lucky or not, not harm trying.
Thanks mate.
I actually did and got the $300 refund as my purchase is still within the 30-day return period.
So I am now a happy customer.
Hey mate, just wondering if I want to link this laptop with the TV to play 4K videos, can 4K docking station do the work since there’s no HDMI from this laptop
I have not tried TV but the docking station works well with my monitor.
In TV usecase, I think you need both the docking station and cable to support 4k@60hz.
I believe for TV, 60Hz is a minimum. Thanks so much for your response. I have never bought Huawei notebook before so you reckon overall the quality and durability is good
Huawei is better known for its phones… maybe there is better value to be had at Dell/Lenovo for the same money?
Do you know Huawei makes hybrid cars?!
https://www.drive.com.au/news/huawei-unveils-its-first-car-t…Actually they are known for their telecommunication equipments which puts the USA on their toes.
Is it worth getting xcover? Are they any good?
Can you stack this up with the AMEX spend $500 or more get $100 back?
Pulled the trigger. Don't forget Shopback. I think they have 1.5% rebate too.
Is it possible to upgrade the RAM to 32GB ? Thinking to use this for Dev work ?
I've got the 2019 (I think, has the mx150) version of this. I love it. Build quality is fantastic, fans almost never on, light, great keyboard. I've even got it dual booting as a hackintosh for tinkering.
Too bad back to $1699……
Has anyone managed to get a tax invoice from seller?
I received the package but there is only a delivery note. No invoice are sent.
yea same here. I needed a Tax Invoice (with GST info and all). Have sent an eBay message without much luck so far :(
Let me know how you go mate as I’m in the same boat. Will need a tax invoice and so far all I’m getting is crickets from eBay.
@Mazza91: Got one. Hopefully same at your end by now.
@WillKillfor5Cents: Hey mate yep, they sent me one too.
Cheers!
@Mazza91: How much does it say on tax invoice?
@mooreshady: Mine says wrong amount too.
@alte zachem: Same here. The amount is more than I actually paid.
@wonderdream: I think it's because Ebay is rebating us the discount. Probably seller still see it at full amount at their end imho. But I'm not accountant, so don't take my words for it!!!
Bought this, but something seems off about the eBay store. The receipt is an image, not a pdf. I had to request it. They said they can't add the ABN to the receipt but gave me one via text which claims to be 'MICROSOFT PTY LTD' (did an ABN check). I asked the microsoft onlines store (not from eBay) and they said that the eBay store is not microsoft.
Not sure you're covered by warranty as the store isn't listed on huawei as an authorized reseller for the laptop also (only mobile citi and a few others).
Same here. I paid with PayPal and hope PayPal and ebay receipt can help in this case. Just went to check the huawei warranty policy ( https://consumer.huawei.com/au/support/warranty-policy/ ). It doesn't look like you have to buy from authorized reseller, as long as you have the original proof of purchase (e.g. receipt or tax invoice)
Yes, sure, assuming that is a legitimate tax invoice. I ran a small business and have never seen a tax invoice like that for anything I've bought. Wrong amount. Low res image looks like potentially typed up in word. Potentially wrong ABN? I messaged Microsoft Compliance to ask.
Haven't received the laptop yet, but for anyone wanting to chec you can see your warranty period here apparently:
https://consumer.huawei.com/au/support/warranty-query/Main thing to check would be if the device is an Australian one where Australian warranties applied. E.g., if it's from Malaysia and is under Malaysian warranty then it can't be serviced.
I just check mine. You can find the S/N at the back of the laptop. Mine shows Australia as the "Applicable scope" and the expected warranty expiration date shows 2023/6/21.
All good. Such a relief.
In case anyone asks, I went through the pre-installed "Huawei PC Manager" and registered my device. I think that process automatically creates a record in Huawei Warranty site above.
hi wonderdream, do you just create a huawei account? Is that all that you need to do?
Just curious, because after registering, I couldn't find anywhere to link my laptop S/N to my Huawei account.
Cheers!
Ah great to hear!
Thanks for sharing.
I've asked them for an ATO compliant tax invoice for the right amount. The image of an invoice they sent is apparently not compliant. Will update if you like.
OK, update, received the laptop. Can't get legit tax invoice from seller yet. It should say 'tax invoice' at the top, invoice number - indicating they have an accounting system, and probably give their business details other than ABN which is more optional). If you're hoping to claim as business expense, this matters.
Seller replies to request for ATO compliant invoice with:
"Unfortunately. the invoice file is too heavy to upload as PDF and that is why we are allow only to upload pictures.
For security purposes we are not allow to send this information to an alternative email address."I really doubt this is Microsoft. I believe it's a small one or two person shop deceptively representing themselves.
Did you ended up receiving a new invoice? Or did they insist on using the picture format invoice? I just noticed, they don't put their address too on their tax invoice :(
No. Whole thing is weird - no invoice unless requested, picture only, strange looking invoice, broken english when communicating with 'Official' Microsoft Store, Microsoft Store denying any connection to eBay store, etc., etc.. I did what I could and reached out to Microsoft, etc., to no avail. The device is under warranty and it was a good price. Leaving it at that.
Yeah, from my googling, seems like it. They are not related to the real "Microsoft" at all.
Update for anyone interested. The whole issue of incorrect invoicing is actually due to an eBay issue. The seller does not see the amount you actually paid (with the coupon). He receives payment for the full listing. eBay is actually paying a small portion of the cost (including GST). But why no invoice is given from the beginning - I don't know.
it's back at under $1399 after ebay coupon. it's an awesome price.. $2999 retail when it came out
i have the 2019 version, i7 16gb, and its an awesome laptop, still fast but of course not as snappy as the 11th gens
so tempted to upgrade… must resist… hopefully this time next year the 2022 will be this price… without the double chin camera
Amazing price for the specs.
