  • I guess an Andround Samsung Note 20 would go for the non thunderbolt USB4 cable? Or both will work on my Samsung Note 20 any experts here?

    Thank OP too 👍😁

    • Yes, thunderbolt is a superset of USB-C so the cable should work on any 3.1 (or lower) port. Obviously speed and power delivery will be determined by the connected devices.

    • +1

Overkill, a USB 3.0/3.1 Gen1/3.2 Gen 1 cable will be fine. No mobile phone currently supports USB 3.1/3.2 Gen 2.

On the other hand, I found the description a bit iffy. Thunderbolt 3, 2m, 40GBps… really? Also, there are comments where these are passive cables. Anyway, you cannot really tell / test the cable properly with a mobile phone.

      • I have some chinese 2m TB3 cables from a few years ago. It's pretty hard to do a test on throughput without having an external GPU but they worked fine for docking with 2x 1440p monitors.
