    Pineapples on a pizza? Yuck

    (Anchovies are A-OK)

    • +12

      Always one.

Yknow pineapple and savoury foods is used in several cultures worldwide.
Just because the internet makes people think putting pineapple on pizza is weird many people now sprout this belief.

FYI many people love the Pizza Hut Supreme pizza…which contains pineapple.

      • +4

OMG now you want sprouts on your pizza too?!

        • +10

          User name checks out

        spout

        • sprout or sprout up INTRANSITIVE if things sprout or sprout up somewhere, they appear there or increase in number suddenly and very quickly
New businesses began to sprout up across the country.
Anti-government posters are sprouting up along a nearby wall.

          Just saying….

      • +5

Blame meme culture for the "pineapple shouldn't be on pizza" thing. I've never heard of it before.

For the last couple of years, all the npc's say it now. Before then, nothing.

        • +1

I thought 'no pineapples on pizza' is from Italian culture

        • Exactly.

Mind you.. if it started in AMERICA I can see why the world would be sceptical.
They do have a reputation for turning good healthy food into unhealthy rubbish.

      • +2

A survey in USA revealed people actually hate anchovies more in general than pineapple…
        https://www.foodandwine.com/news/america-least-favorite-pizz…

        • They hate good cheese and many other things people around the world love.
          This doesn’t surprise me.

Just look at their beer and rEd licorice…
.. the licorice doesn’t actually contain licorice and their beer is mid strength yuk.

      • -1

I mean if you think Pizza Hut is edible then I’m not surprised if you like pineapple on it too

        • I mean if you like dominos also then….

    Bravo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Although I don’t mind pineapple on pizza I like this hack.
      Thanks

Love pineapple on takeaway pizza. But must be takeaway pizza.

        • Interesting.
          How about burgers.
          Like an Aussie works burger

          • +1

@FredAstair: Nope. Not on burgers or grilled on the bbq. Just pizzas. Actually I never realised that. Just more proof I'm an oddball. Also whoever neged my feelings about pineapple on pizza, really must dispise pineapple on pizza. :)

            • +1

@cookie2: Speaking of BBQ I love grilling the pineapple and capsicum on it before adding it to my sweet and sour chicken recipe.

Oh look. Another pineapple and savoury recipe for the internet to say yuk to. Lol

              • +1

@FredAstair: Hubby loves grilled pineapple in ruce salad. Aussies tend to have a love hate relationship with it tho.

                • @cookie2: More than likely started in America tbh.
Aussie love to be second hand Americans

    • :O

    • Lifehack #2 - I change Supreme to BBQ sauce, take off pineapple and replace it with cherry tomatoes, and take off pepperoni (because there is also a few other meats already) and replace it with olives … feels far more balanced meal with a bit more colour, a slight Mediterranean vibe with the olives and cherry tomatoes, all free changes… and usually only $7.95 thanks to OzB vouchers. Your choice of base - i mix it up from thin through to pan (but rarely stick with 'classic' aka - pan-stingy for those that don't change it)

        I’m loving these pizza hacks..

    Gonna try this, cheers

The vegetarian pepperoni was incredible (when they had it). Fingers crossed for a return some day!

    • -5

      Vegetarian pepperoni. You're kidding right…

      • +8

It's real and it's legitimately delicious. Cured meats (while very tasty) unfortunately increase your risk of a few types of cancer. Veggie pepperoni is all the enjoyment with none of the guilt! Less oily too but some might say that's a negative.

          • +12

@ozbarney: Water, soy protein, wheat gluten, spices. Which one of those triggered you? Would you like a tissue? You seem easily upset by other people's informed free market choices.

            the amount of processing

As opposed to regular pepperoni, which grows in the wild, full formed, and definitely isn't tcut down from a whole carcass, ground, seasoned, cured with sodium nitrite and nitrate plus (if you're lucky) a fermenting culture, then packaged in skins (or collagen casing), then dried. No "processing" there.

            • @GrueHunter: LoL. Your "informed" choice seems to have missed a few ingredients…
Water, soy protein isolate, vital wheat gluten, tofu (water, soybeans, magnesium chloride), spices. contains 2% or less of: garlic powder, onion powder, wheat starch, maltodextrin, torula yeast, yeast extract, natural flavors, vitamin and mineral blend (dimagnesium phosphate, ferric orthophosphate, zinc oxide, niacinamide, vitamin b12, calcium pantothenate, thiamine hydrochloride, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin, iron oxide), salt, sugar, canola oil, guar gum, carrageenan, extractives of paprika and beet powder (for color). Contains: Soy, wheat.

But that's what happens when you sell a lie 😂

          • +3

@ozbarney: Big man scared of a blender 🤣

        • +1

The current data estimates eating 50gr of processed meats everyday increases your colorectal cancer risk by roughly 1%. I’d say that’s acceptable given how delicious they are. Like all things , moderation is key. Although if you’re eating something as trash tier as a dominos pizza i dont think your health is a concern in that moment…

  • +1

How long does this code work for?

    • +12

      There's literally ALWAYS a $7.95 coupon for Domino's.

      • Saya my closest store doesn't accept it. Hmmmm.

      • 50% (and even 40%) off used to be such good but nowadays it's not really that good anymore😂

  • +2

    Long weekend!?!? I feel cheated

    • -2

How can you feel cheated… we've already had so many long weekends in a row I somehow managed to get sick of them?!
…Why the F Queensland doesn't spread them out more is beyond me. Moving one to October was a good idea.

      • How good is the long weekend in October though, gotta love having Monday off after Sunday NRL GF

        • +1

October is the best one I think

      • +1

        Sick of long weekends?
Three in a row was awesome.

        • +1

How it happened to work out is I had 5x 4 day weeks in a row…. but my boss still expected me to get 5 weeks worth of work done because it has to be done…

I did something 1.5 of the weekends - was just recovering for the others.

I would much much much rather them spread out and use all of them without the repercussions.

          • @MrFrugalSpend: Your boss sounds like a tool. Don’t work weekends without getting paid (extra) for it.

    • We get one for the Ekka in August and one in October for the Queen.

      • -1

Yeah I don't work in Brisbane so no I don't.
Spare a thought for Western Downs, Croydon, Goondiwindi, Banana and Maranoa regions who all had their show public holidays thrown into the mix with the other 4

        https://www.qld.gov.au/recreation/travel/holidays/show

These people don't get a holiday in August - they have had them all in a condensed clump (except October and Christmas) - its shite

  • +2

Don't forget about the Sunday surcharge…

    • dont forget QBday surcharge tomoz

    • -4

Exactly. Nothing against vegetarian pizzas. I actually love vegetarian pizzas. But trying to imitate meat using veggies is seriously crazy and inefficient.

    • +3

Salads get boring after a while, and just think you can have a flavorsome meal and save the planet at the same time

        • +5

Speaking of a life, this is your fourth comment on a deal you're not interested in. Maybe get one?

          A life, I mean

          • -4

@GrueHunter: They also offer traditional pizzas. What makes you think I didn't order a nice meaty one? Sorry I always forget not everyone has English as their first language. How many comments have you made tonight on various posts and other social media outlets…. Pot… Kettle… Black?

  • Yea 15% PH surcharge, no thx. KFC 4.95 fill up will do with free chips and drink😁

    • 10% Sundays. Where’s the free chips and drink coming from?

      • +1

Yea I was more referring tomorrow haha. You can get free chips and drink when you fill out the survey https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/338514

It's such a good one too coz fill up box doesn't have a drink.

        • Gotcha, don’t have KFC that often, cheers for the tip

A reminder to OzBargaineers - tuesday week (21 June) is another super-cheap Tuesday @ Domino's.

    $4/$6/$8 (value/normal/premium)

  • -3

This isn't pizza, it's a circle of par cooked bread with cheap stuff on it.
