Except Cumberland council which I have emailed, and they replied:

"Thank you so much for your email and your interest in rebate for sanitary products. While some of the Councils in NSW have successfully introduced a Nappy and Sanitary Rebate program, Cumberland City Council do not have this program. We are aware of the amount of waste generated by disposable nappies and understand its impact on the environment.

We are concerned about the environment and are always working on our objective to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill through introduction of new programs or by providing information though workshops, website or social media. Former Auburn Council had introduced Nappy Library for its residents but the program got phased out due to lack of interest from the community for this service.

We will certainly look into the Nappy and Sanitary Rebate program and see if there would be enough interest from the community and if the program will fit within our budget.

Once again thank you for getting in touch with us."

    • Well, Cumberland Council doesn't appear to be very progressive.
