I also looked at this in depth, however the HDMI 2.1 ports are only capable of like 23GB/s which I didn't like.

Does that mean it can't actually do 4K @ 144Hz through HDMI?

      • +1

Not a proper 4k 144hz, I think it still does it but makes sacrifices such as compression and colour range reduction.

    • pathetic gigabyte…

BGR not ideal for text, even with clear type font adjustment.
For gaming you won't notice a difference with BGR.

I sold mine and went with 43" Samsung q90b which you can buy for $1550 from Appliance Central. OLED is better if you're not concerned about burn in. I would wait for another deal on FO48u if you're not concerned about burn in.

Be wary that you need the newer graphics cards for hdmi 2.1 if you're going to use the tv as a monitor in order to get the higher refresh rate.

The colour uniformity of the backlight was also uneven on a dark background.

I used the Ergotron Hx monitor arm with 200mm Vesa adaptor which holds both off the table with good manoeuvrability.

    • Hey mate, how did you go with your Q90B. I have a QN800A and the backlight uniformity is so obvious… I can basically tell the 14 vertical zones of backlight….

      • The qn90b U uniformity was okay provided I had a coloured wallpaper…there was obvious dimming of the taskbar when I only had a plain black desktop wallpaper. There is also obvious blooming with a black wallpaper when I move the mouse around.

The qn95b should be available soon, but will likely also cost more.

    • Any idea how many miniLED zones there are on the 43" Samsung? Can't seem to find info on it

It has great speakers for a monitor, like seriously impressed. Obviously not the OLED model, but I'm happy enough with it and the colour range for console gaming.

The OSD is good, so find a good tutorial and spend a bit of time tuning the settings for decent HDR.

Seriously this thing is huge for a monitor, so you're gonna want a heavy duty monitor arm for the 200*200 VESA mount (or use an adaptor) or sacrifice some considerable desk space.

  • At Centrecom and Umart currently both at $899

Refurbished at JW Computers at $799 which isn't much of a discount from new at $899, might call them and haggle on price

    Actually above refurbished states,..
""however please allow up to 3 dark or bright pixels.""

Would these be noticeable? I'm sure the bright ones would?
