      • And you never got order confirmation?

        That's a real bummer.

        • None zip nada. Just three separate cancellation emails.
The cancellation email from Sydney was quite apologetic, but the one from Wollongong was very cut and dry.

  • +3

Still waiting for confirmation from an order on Monday.. Rang up and was told one of my orders was cancelled, the other 'still in the system and may be accepted', but told to "wait a week and see if it shows up". Kind of annoying as clearly people have called up or walked into the shop and picked up stock after my order was placed. Their system apparently doesn't reserve stock for orders - presumably it assumes they can get more to fulfil the orders, which is not the case for end-of-line items.

Basically if you're still "in the queue" you can forget about getting your order.

    • in that case my $2000 order is almost certain to be cancelled…. :( no new tools for me

  • +2

Still waiting for order confirmation, this is really bad.

  • +1

I have placed two separate orders over the phone. Received the invoice and order confirmation for both of them. However, when i look into my account they don't show up. This is just ridiculous.

  • I just received my kit i ordered on tuesday . Delivery was quick but it looks like it was a return and there's items missing from the box.
Missing a Circular Saw, a battery and an impact driver.
battery was already attached to the drill as well.

double check everything is in the box when you received it.

    • Was the outer packaging broken for your order?

I've received my orders but too busy to wade through all kits to make sure everything is included.

      • +1

it looked like it may have been a return and old stock. The box was quite faded and after checking it looked like there was a second layer of tape sealing it up.
The battery was attached to the drill already as well. I'm going to wait and see what they do.
This looks like it is old stock and the battery in there was completely drained - WIll see their outcome first before i try to charge it up.

i would double check the it's all in there considering each skin is worth $200+ each.

        • My Makita set seem to be double tapped as well and seems like an extremely old box..

          Was yours Makita as well?

          • +1

@MarsTitan: yes it was. the 5 piece kit.

            • @dragong87: Keep me updated, how you go with replacement? I may just return it as well.

Mine is an 8pc kit for 1099.0 Not happy about that.

              • +1

@MarsTitan: I ordered the 6ah 8pce Makita kit too. The box was old but tools inside are new and fine. It's old stock so you should expect an old box.

                • @quikchip: Thanks, I'll check it today. Are you missing any pieces?

                  • +1

@MarsTitan: i tihnk mine was an exception and more just a warning to the others to check in case you put this aside and dont open it for a while.

              • @MarsTitan: I'll buy it from you if you don't want it.

                • @quikchip: Only if you were in SA. Can't be bothered posting this interstate.

              • +1

@MarsTitan: Update: They replaced the kit and the new kit was brand new but batteries out of the box were dead. They charged up but being completely dead cant have been good for the battery's lifespan.

        • +1

My 5 Piece kit arrived today, it was definitely a new box that had not been opened, only one layer of tape sealing the box.

I can confirm that the batteries were attached to the impact driver and the grinder. Everything was loose in the box except for the Combination Hammer and the circular saw, which were In their own boxes.

  • Pretty sure my order won't come through.

Received confirmation and I can see the order in Order summary in my profile, however the status is Open Order it seems to indicate it's on back order (or that's the logic of how this system works).

On another note, I noticed a few other supplies like these (electrical/plumbing/etc) use a similar system. Seems so clunky.

    • Did your order confirmation have an eta for delivery? My 2 orders were both confirmed with estimated dispatch date of 9/6 and 10/6. Of course this is no guarantee but curios if others have similar "promises"

      • Yes it did.

First confirmation was 30/6, then the second order was 24/6.

        • I must have got lucky, both my orders are now showing dispatched;)

          • @mauricem: Looks like one of the orders has been refunded. I guess the other one still might turn up.

  • I just got a confirmation email through. Out of the half dozen tools I ordered, only 1 listed on the order. Also not listed in my orders on the website. Yet they took the full amount from my card so I guess I'm going to have to hassle them about a refund. Dispatch also not happening until next week, not the 3 days indicated on the site.

Seems like this is going to be a real pain in the ass to sort through. I should have just selected pickup from store.

    • Nah, I selected pick up from store and its just as bad. I ordered when plenty of stock was showing on the site for pickup as well.

Had 2 orders put in, the first was a web order they couldn't find so they manually put in a repeat order. Just received notice about the 1st order out of the blue - everything cancelled but 2 items, one of which they can't guarantee if there's any stock and that I'll have to wait. (Wait for what? Another round of disappointment?)

Nothing about the second order which was put in manually. Both orders were charged for. I don't think there will be stock of anything left for the 2nd order.

I swear, the boss must have let his little niece or nephew design the website and everyone must tolerate the site else they make the little one cry. Rep did apologise that if it was any other company, I would have had my whole order fulfilled rather than have customers jump the cue by whether they could find the orders or not.

  • Far out was just about to buy a kit and he took it offline was so close.

  • Mine has already been refunded, no refund email received though

  • @sogster10

Any update as to what's happening?

    • Just got an email - all refunded but for 1 item. Is what is it. Good deal non the less.

  • +1

This is going from bad to worst, wasting so much time, send numerous email, blah blah blah, no email confirmation, nothing, today follow up again and got a reply it will be refunded, wtf blackwood

  • Still waiting on confirmation.
Money deducted from credit card so hopefully they will send my order .

    • +3

It should be clear that the money being deducted is no indication of getting your order. If you're still waiting on confirmation your order hasn't been manually verified and accepted, thus no stock reserved or dispatched. People who called up or picked up in store have jumped the queue and taken the stock.

The stock is all gone, so now just a case of chasing refunds.

      • True but I never had an option to pick up due to not being available near me .

      • Have you got your refund?

  • +1

Just received an email of hammering my order.
I placed the order just after this post was out.
It’s high chance that they didn’t put the old orders first.
    Disappointed.

    • Same here, I placed an order literally seconds when this post was out.

  • +1

Pretty dodgy of Blackwoods to completely remove all records of these items from their website… no way to verify what was included when you go to collect.
So of the items they could "actually" fullfil regardless if you paid for it or not, I managed to score:
    03672297 TRIMMER DEWALT FLEXVOLT 54V+ 6AH BATTERY

I thought I saw an included charger in the "kit", but I didn't get one and I can't verify.
Anyone know if a charger was included? Still a good deal without one, but not as awesome as if it was included.

@Blackwoods, you need a better inventory system, because selling stuff you don't have and can't get ain't cool.

    • +1

No there was no charger listed or supplied, it must have been a blackwood special as I've never seen a Dewalt tool with battery and no charger. Still a great deal.
plenty of the slow chargers over marketplace etc for <$50

      • Thanks :)
I tried hard to find any cache of the listing, to no avail.

    • Yes I noticed they deleted all the items and most now say special order for dewalt stuff .

  • I ordered everything Bosch on the list but everything was cancelled except a nibbler for ~130$. Still a win!

    • I got 2 bosch shears and 1 bosch bandsaw. The 2 and 3 tool Bosch kits were insane value, good luck to anyone who scored those but I can't imagine the staff not jumping on those to resell. Insider trading probably accounted for cancelled orders;(

    • +2

I've had a nibbler for YEARS… still don't know what to do with it.

  • Guess I'm going to have to call them up tomorrow. Only 1 item confirmed via an invoice (with no explanation, just an invoice for one item), no idea about the other items and no refunds back to my card yet. Going to fun trying to explain my order given I have no record of what I ordered.

    • +1

      They way it works:
1.- You get an order confirmation.
      2.- You get Shipment Notification.
3.- You get a call from your local warehouse saying sorry this item isn't in stock and the supplier can't provide it.
4.- You go to the warehouse to collect whatever was available, wait 1hr, then they say a refund will happen 3-5 days for the items they didn't have.

      Simplez.

      • Might be easier to just do a chargeback on the CC

        • 5.- Then you call up asking where your refund is.
6.- Then they have no idea what you're talking about and will get back to you…

  • I was lucky enough to receive a 5 piece Makita 18v set. Heads up that anyone who actually got something that you're eligible for number of bonuses via redemption via Makita website. I was able to also get a mutli-tool which has a RRP of $279.

    • I saw that set, would have bought the lot and sold them parted out on eBay if I had the $ … Must have been under cost price

  • Well my entire order was cancelled by a store nowhere near me… Charge is still on my cc so I hope I don't need to go through a charge back process and waste even more time on this non-event..

  • I had 2 orders confirmed via email. I then received another email stating 1 item is out of stock, please advise regarding further action. A few mins later I received another email stating that the "out of stock" item has been confirmed… I replied asking what's going on but no reply.

I have a feeling I'm going to be mucked around for a few weeks before they even begin to process refunds, then I'll spend another few weeks chasing it all up. Might be easier just to do a charge back as suggested.

This is all on top of a few phone calls both local and to an overseas call centre by the sounds of it with pretty much everyone having no idea what they're doing. Great experience so far…

  • +1

Parasites already started reselling on Gumtree and FB before we receive any confirmation email. Wow. $50 Bosch metal saw skin sells for $250. $150 Dewalt trimmer kit for $300.

    • Yep seen a bunch of kit appear on eBay too.

    • The way inflation is going, I'm keeping them.

    Just to share…

    What I Ordered?

    $659 — DeWALT 18/54V 9.0Ah XR Brushless Combo Kit - 4 Piece DCZ441X2T-XE

    $329 — Dewalt Flexvolt Reciprocatng Saw 6Ah Kit - DCS388T2-XE

    Order Experience?

Two orders, both charged credit card immediately but NO confirmation until 14 hours later without calling up.

Delivered by TNT / FedEx, seems very reliable and great service to me. They leave card when unattended.

    Packaging?

    Dusty, dents and tears

Reciprocating saw packed in a blackwoods cardboard box, then a Dewalt plastic tool box.

For the 4 piece kit, tools are individually packed in original Dewalt box, then placed inside the two Dewalt heavy duty storage box.

The two heavy duty boxes are stacked and locked together. It suppose to have another Dewalt cardboard wrapping which is broken on arrival. It looks like a long Dewalt banner now. Not a big deal for me.

No noticeble double-taping or re-taping. The gears seem brand new to me, so far.

    Condition?

I found one 6 Ah battery not properly charging. It fit into charger fine and charge does light up as "charging". However, charging only last for few minutes then stops. Battery level indicator always show 1 of 3 bars.

Tested another 6 Ah battery, better; It was initially at 1 bar on level indicator. It charged fine and showing 3 bar now.

Need more time to test the other 2 x 9 Ah batteries and all tools. Will report back if any issue found.

Good Luck Everyone, I hope you all received the orders.

    • Thanks. I'll add mine if/when they arrive

    • Have you checked your date codes on the batteries? Are dewalt batteries serialised to invoices?
The 6ah flexvolt that was bundled with my trimmer is 2017;(

The 3 Bosch tools I bought were old models but at least they were in factory sealed boxes.

      • Invoice does not show any serial number for any of my Dewalt item. I am not 100% sure if it will become an issue at later stage.

Both 6 Ah Flexvolt Batteries from my DeWalt Reciprocatng Saw Kit are dated 2016.

Both 9 Ah Flexvolt Batteries from my DeWalt 4 Piece Kit DCZ441X2T-XE are dated 2018

I will check with Blackwoods to see if they can replace the faulty battery.

I have been wondering if there is some kind of meater to check below, any idea?

        1. Number of charge-cycle already done on the battery

        2. Usable power after a full recharge

        • Contact dewalt directly for faulty batteries, they will ask for photos of batteries, invoice and postal address. I just had 4 batteries replaced no questions asked. Claim that all batteries (including ones that are ok) are faulty, they won't look into it and will post you new ones.

          • @quikchip: Thanks. Did you call or email DeWalt?

Can they send replacement in advance? or the faulty batteries have to reach them before they can dispatch new ones?

            • @icecream: Call them and speak to service dept, make sure you get through to someone in Australia. They won't ask you to send your old batteries in.

              • @quikchip: I called 1800 950 847 during office hours, but it keeps redirecting to off-shore call center and operator asked more than 10 questions and advised to contact retailer for warranty.

May I ask which number did you call, please?

                Thanks

  • Website was was hopeless but I think that worked in my favour. Staff were really helpful and I ordered Bosch grinder and rotary drill over the phone and arrived from Sydney to regional Victoria in 3 days. The grinder included a hard case and is over $400 at total tools. The drill must be an old version and came in a dusty box but the equivalent version is over $350. Both tools are made in Germany. Great deal in my opinion. Looking forward to the next one.

  • My entire order but the nibblers was cancelled. Received the nibblers today. Box had all of the seals cut and looks opened but the tool appear new.

  • Received the grinder today. Wrapped in packaging film straight over the blue hard cover box. A security sticker was broken so I started filming the rest of the opening for just in case. No need. Brand new, made in Germany, grinder still with the battery tag in place for the button battery. Handle, flange nut, spacer and flange spanner all in a sealed bag.
To be fair I have yet to put a battery in and see it physically spin however I am proper stoked.
Thanks OP! Fingers crossed for my others items I purchased on a separate order.

  • Looks like my Bosch bandsaw is on backorder - unlikely to actually come through based on all the above comments.

Anyone get one that they'd sell me?

  • Received my one item they could fill on Friday (by surprise) which was the 240V impact wrench. Just sent with a shipping invoice stuck to the Bosch box.

All other items unfilled. Will call Monday to ask when they are going to refund me the difference.

  • +2

Unfortunately after repeated calls and emails and promises of callbacks or emails etc etc, I actioned a credit card dispute today.
I had duplicate charges on my credit card, no emails ever received from Blackwoods for my order, no means to speak to the accounts team and repeated promises of a refund confirmation.
Staff openly talk about how badly people are being treated by Blackwoods but don’t really have the interest or ability to improve the circus.
Absolutely disgraceful online business deserving of the wrath of Ozbargain.

    • Still waiting to hear about my product that is in transit, then not picked, then at the warehouse, then not at warehouse….what amazes me is how can BW run a logistic shop like this. FWIW…we used to do better logistics in days of paper trail!

    • same boat here, after repeated calls and emails and promises, today I called and they said, they don't have anything and they will have to cancel and refund, the refund will be processed in few weeks, wtf, blackwood.

  • Called up today. Yes no stock. When I order online on 7/6, there were stocks. When I went back to online store to check the following two days, it shows stock. Ordering online does not reserve stock, what is the point of showing stock levels.

Refund to happen within 24/48 hour only after call. Refund should have already happened. Not hard to email to say no stock will be refunding. So will be giving them another 48hrs to refund, else will do charge back on Credit Card.

For any sales next time, maybe they should do Walk-In only, if they have limited stock, because the online system is surely wasting peoples time and not fit for purpose.

    • Called up to get my refund and they processed my order which resulted in another pending debit transaction. That charge has now gone but the original remains.

Will need to call again to try get a refund processed properly. So disappointing to miss out on stock to walk-ins despite it being available when I ordered. My reward for ordering early is both missing out and chasing a refund that is proving difficult to get actioned. No doubt I'm on their spam mailing list too.

It really wouldn't be that difficult for them to search for all 'journaled' orders that couldn't be fulfilled and email out an apology and explain they are working on refunds (they apparently aren't).

      • Couldn't get a refund and was told to wait. It is pretty clear the removal of the new pending transaction was the 'refund' and there is no credit being processed for the original unconfirmed order. Unfortunately the staff on the phone have no idea how to process this.

Am currently chasing up a chargeback through the bank. I've wasted so much more time on this crap order system than I might've saved in the deal.

    • with no info whatsoever, I received the refund on my credit card, paid $200.5 , refunded $194.53. I guess they charged admin fee for the refund, FU blackwood.

      • WTF?
I just checked my refund - I got exact amount back.
I would try to call them.

      • +1

        What!?

Is it legal not to issue full refund due to failure to fulfill order?

DId you call and discuss the issue with them?

      • thats bs, ask for full refund or escalate up to fair trading. It wasn't even dispatched so they had no grounds to deduct for costs.

  • I have had a phone call from blackwoods saying I will get a refund as they can not supply the items I ordered - bosch drill kit, grinder and metal saw. I said to the woman who called why is that as there was plenty of stock when I ordered on the monday 6/6, and that I was able to order, and money was taken from my bank account the say day. She said it was a "while stocks last sale", and that they couldn't get anymore from the supplier. I pointed out that there was stock when I ordered, and she said "how can you prove that". They are so full of BS. Especially if from what I have read here people were able to phone up or walk in and purchase a day after I ordered.

  • My Bosch impact wrench arrived today for click and collect. No issues. Cardboard packaging was a tiny bit dusty, but who cares? My tools will be covered in crap in a week anyways.
I gotta say though, bloody hell, what a great deal! I didn't realise it included 2x 18v 6ah batteries and a hardcase! I thought it was just one battery, so nice surprise!
The impact wrench alone is worth like $520 just for a skin and 18v 6ah Bosch batteries are like $169 each I think. All this for $139 plus a new charger. Even if the Bosch grinder ends up falling through that I also ordered I'm happy enough with this. I needed new batteries for my other Bosch tools.

sogster10, thanks for posting mate. You're a champ!

    • +1

Seems with this deal, there are extreme winners and extreme losers, no middle ground. Well congrats. I'm still waiting for all my orders to be fulfilled

      • Yeah, I'm pretty wrapped as I fully expected to miss out completely as I got mucked around heaps on the phone and via email with various orders. I'm not meaning to gloat, I do understand the frustrations, as I was going through them myself.

  • After two weeks of chasing, I have finally received my first email from Blackwoods.

“Our Accounts/Banking have advised me that there is a technical issue affecting many web refunds. They have not been able to provide with with a date but are aware of the urgency of yours. I will pass on any further information I receive.”

Quite extraordinary for a company owned by Wesfarmers. It’s behaving like a mum and pop company new to the inter web🤪

    • I'd push them for some compensation. That sounds like the sort of behaviour that could land them in trouble with regulators.

    • just do a cc chargeback

    • even mom and pop company is much better than this f blackwood

  • The 6Ah flexvolt battery with my trimmer wont charge past 2 lights now. Trying dewalt first as better chance of getting a newer replacement battery I hope.
edit just spoke to dewalt they want me to send in the battery which I'll do as they are supplying a prepaid envelope. Not as convenient as the guy who just had to supply photos but easier than dealing with blackwoods

  • Still not getting any response on my refunds despite numerous emails. Frustrated.

  • I had an order go through from this deal. Got an invoice with estimated dispatch of 24 June.

Called today to find out ETA, they said no stock and said they would refund after keeping my money all month.

    Pretty lame.

  • Received my refunds. Finally. Hope everyone got theirs

    • Hi mate, Could you please let me know how you got the refund, I placed my order 5 weeks ago but no confirmation email or any order show up on my Blackwood account, the only thing I got is a screenshot I took when I place my order showing web order number. However when I tell them the web order number to cancel they couldn't find anything.
Could you let me know the email address that you contacted to get the refund?
      Thanks

      • Hi there, I was in the same shoes. My orders somehow got stuck somewhere. I never received any order confirmation and it did not appear in my log-in either. I had to call a local store to first locate the orders (although took a while). Suspected this is why I missed out as stock may have been allocated to people after me.

I then waited 3 weeks for the refund and then sent an ultimatum email. They process the refund on the same day. Try this email: [email protected].

        • +1

Thanks for your reply. I also tried that email but they did not reply to me. This is the worst company I have purchased from

  • WTF, after one month, my order still didn't arrive yet.
So, I checked BW website and found my order disappeared.
I am quite sure that I saw it on 7-jun-2022.
My CC was charged already. I also checked my mailbox. It didn't say any refund about it.

    • My order is still there. You might need to change the date range of the order summary.

I should probably arrange to get the order cancelled since it's not going to come through. I was hoping it would be automated cancellation to avoid contacting them since they don't even list them anymore.

      • Still not delivered after two months.
Will never buy things from them again.

  • Received a call yesterday that my Bosch kit arrived and is ready for collection at Melbourne Blackwoods depot. Makita kit I ordered is still on backorder, so will go and collect the Bosch kit and nibbler and hope waiting on the Makita kit works like it did for the Bosch. So in my case paid to not bother them and wait, even with low expectations they would get a bosch 2 piece kit in.

    • Picked up the 2 piece Bosch kit and the Makita metal circular saw on Friday at Scoresby. Was the only person in the shop, took them about 5 minutes to find the 2 items. Both sealed unopened boxes. Batteries took a full charge. The Bosch GSB hammer drill is a beast of a drill with the 6 Ah battery and metal chuck. Will leave it another month to see if the 2 piece Makita kit comes in before requesting cancellation.
