  • PC huh? Linux support well tested, rep?

    Steamdeck will matter.

I don’t think creative do any testing.

      • What makes you say that? Someone has to develop their drivers, and write the software.
Historically their testing was VERY good.
My first Adlib card came with a VERY extensive list of features, not just on it's hardware, but including possible IRQ conflicts with common other (competing) devices, and systems.

  • I have one can recommend… with the onboard m/b audio I was finding a lot of static and interference due to all the componentry its hard to get a clean signal. With this being housed outside the case and being a much nicer DAC, especially discrete channels for headphone L/R the sound improvement is very noticeable.

They don't support their products and the software they do have sucks ass

    • I've had a Sound Blaster Z that has withstood 3 PC upgrades and I am still using it almost a decade later with Windows 11 and it's still getting updates (albeit not frequent updates, but who does that anyway these days other than video card manufacturers).

I remember the days of PC internal speakers.
~ beep beep beep beep ~~

    • thats what i got when my i forgot to configure the game to use "Sound Blaster Live or compatible sound cards" using its DOS-based setup…

  • Can some sound person help me with my stupid brain?

I have an Behringer UMC22 audio interface which my studio monitors are connected to via TRS cables - and I connect my headphones to the front of the interface via the headphone input

The issue is I want to EQ the headphones, but the output for the speakers and the headphones are the same (The interface) meaning I'll be EQ'ing the speakers too.

Is there a way to separate the headphones and the speaker as 2 outputs in Windows so I can EQ just the headphones? Is a headphone amp/dac the solution?

    • Some PC mobo has a dedicated headphone output Jack. Else you can look into USB to 3.5mm to be used as an audio output so you can EQ that specific device.

  • Hi OP, any deals for the X4?

  • this is literally the gaming chair in ergo office chair world, but for desktop dac/amps.

  • Any deals on the AdLib Gold?

  • I had one. It was great, while it worked for 3 months. Then died. However you do hear the difference between this and on board as there isn’t any extra noise and interference. This is with the upper tier motherboard like the Crosshair VIII hero.

    • Same mine died under after about 11 months but they replaced it under warranty including return postage costs.

Funnily enough when you put the PC into sleep mode the G6 would stay on, I had to plug it into a USB extension port and then use Hibernate before Windows would shut it off.

Hopefully not running 24/7 will help.

      • Yeah I returned it too and decided to just get a wireless headset instead of getting a replacement.

  • Just letting you know that they don't provide refunds for their products only replacements with Major Faults which is ruled under ACL. I learned it the hard way so I now purchase their products via Amazon or eBay using PayPal/CC. I had to go through a gruesome charge back experience from Creative Labs.
