Unlocking Huawei IDEOS x3 (U8510-7)

Folks,

Just bought this from DS ($69 locked to Vodafone) - would like to unlock so I can use on Optus network and thus use LiveConnected.

Checked with the ever erratic Vodafone unlocker and it advised $25 to unlock. I'm reluctant to pay as so many others seems to have gotten it done for free etc.

Wondering of any other options? Folks in the sales threads seemed to think there was unlocking for ~$2?

I've seen the Ebay ones but they want around $10 for it.

      Hi, yes as stated I tried the Vodafone site and it advised $50 to unlock - ($25 if done online).

      That was my first try but no luck with that. :-)

    Check the other threads here - there's an ebay site mentioned that cost me a little over $12

    EDIT: This is not the one I used (it's too early in the morning to go track it down for you lol) but this one is less than $10 (from a link posted here)

      I checked DC unlocker but for 10 Euro's I'd just pay $25 through Voda.

      Saw that Ebay one, might give him a few offers and see if he bites.
