I've had my eye on this for some time.. Now is free for today only.. From what I can gather, its one of the better tower defense games..

Honestly, they make their money on "in app purchases" The Free is just a hook to get you to download and play the game

I liken it to it is free to play.. but to shorten/advance quickly in the game, you can buy items that do this.. I've yet to ever make an in-app purchase for any of these free games and as far as I can tell, there isn't anything that i've missed out on..
