Just ordered these, several sizes available at time of post.

$20 off with welcome20

These seem like Blundstone's budget range but they are well reviewed. Also, $200 is inflated, they go for around $150 elsewhere so these are nearly half price.

Sorry for the formatting, first post

  • Nice price. No zip if that's essential.

20 off may not work with sale items? Didn't try so can't confirm. Did it work for you?

    • +2

      Works with two pair.

      • +2

        Nice

  • -2

    only size US6 left.

    • +2

Still showing other sizes for me, does it not let you checkout?

    • +2

Yeah I can also see plenty of other sizes, not just US 6, just ordered a pair of the US 11s

  • +7

I’d recommend paying more red backs. They’re still Aussie made and comfy.

    • +1

Haven't heard of them, I'll check them out next round

    • Blue Steel is much much better

  • +6

Couldn't live without the zip. If you're wearing them everyday for work it's worth paying for the 992. If it's just for dress up for site visits once a month get these.

    • Sounds like I'm missing out! Never had zips

      • +11

Once you’ve had a zip you’ll never go back.

        • +1

          agree

      • My workplace demands zips (or just laces) as the non-zipped elasticised ones were found to be far less supportive during ankle rolls and caused more time off.

    • +2

      Zips are the best!

    • i prefer speed laces like this

it's basically just a hook instead of eyelets and the laces are held in by tension, so easy to unlace at the end of the day, no trouble to tie in the morning either. i tried some boots that had about 10 eyelets going up and it was just a pain to tie.

The zip is the difference between going to work angry and going to work homicidal.

The zip is a must for me these days.

    • I always thought the same and wondered why anyone would go the non-zipped option, but then a mate pointed out that zips don't work too well when caked in mud.

I vowed then and there to never switch trades to one where I'd be that deep in mud!

      • Wd40 make them like new, little trick for ya

  • I like blunnies

  • How are these for general hiking boots? Are they lightweight?

    • +8

Not sure, but I've never had safety boots I would describe as lightweight. I find steel toe boots not comfy for hiking in general, hope that helps

    • +4

Why would you use steel-toe boots for hiking?

      • +1

in case you need to kick a bear

    • +3

These are definitely not for hiking
Safety boots are for worksites only
The sole is too thick and the boots are too heavy

    • I've used composite toe boots (Magnum) for hiking/bushwalking before, never steelies. I imagine these would be too heavy. I recall some deals recently for proper hiking boots, so I wouldn't bother here.

That being said I've probably done ~20k+ steps in steelies most days when on site.

    • Nah don't be hiking in these they are heavy and steel caps.

  • I love how sparkies like to dress up in these meanwhile actual construction workers have gone to Asics.

    • +1

      Electrical hazard resistant

might have something to do with it

  • +1

NO return for clearance items, even if it says so on the product page. It’s a bit hard to get the right size with one shoot.
