              @Maths Debater: $1295? It’s not, it’s $1495 on sale at most places

            • +2

@Maths Debater: It's selling for 1495 on sale. 1795 at HN.

            • @Maths Debater: Actually $1495 at HN.

  • -1

    Greatest deal ever?

    • +2

      Not really, no.
As mentioned above, it's only worth $1295.
I personally think JB's $1000 GC was better yesterday.

      • +26

Hmm not sure on the maths here.

        • +20

I think he meant JB Gift card is a better deal than this if you don’t need a TV.

        • +6

Like give you one TV that might not suits what you need versus $1000 cash to buy whatever you want

      • +5

Above comment was wrong. It’s worth $1495 at most major places right now

        • +3

          I stand corrected.
          $1295 is for the 75A7G.

      • +2

        I think that'll be the Hisense A7G not A7H

      • Well I missed that one

      • $1495

    • +2

Nah! It exposes just how much profit is left to hook customers.
They threw me out of the store saying I was not 30 days off Telstra. Not a port in customers according to their unwritten rules.
So I went to the carrier and they made me happier!

      • Do you know if the 30 days apply to belong / boost mobile service, porting out to another mobile provider to take advantage of this deal?

        • +1

If it is not disclosed to you in writing then they are breaking the law! Keep kicking dirt until you get what you deserve!

  • +16

Anyone want to buy a tv?

    • -1

Ozbargainers buying such a horrible tiny TV on the deal page where it is given for free would only pay $500. Keen?

    • +2

      I'll give you the $500!

  • +2

Don't think my lounge room can accommodate a 75 inch TV haha.

    • +17

buy a bigger tiny house then

      • +1

I would if house prices aren't ridiculous in Geelong atm, the prices around here are unreal

        • +1

Don't look at house prices in (the good parts of) Melbourne then.

        • +1

I'll wait til they throw in a house with the mobile plan and then just buy a tv . 😂

      • +2

        Yea, alright SloMo!

    • +20

      Watch it in portrait mode.

      • I like your thinking hehe

    • Does it even fit in your car? Can’t see delivery mentioned in promotion!

      • +2

no problems in my 8 tonne truck

        • +4

Any deals on an 8 tonne truck?

      • +2

Doubt I can fit in the back of my Ford BA Falcon sedan. It defiantly won't fit in the boot cause of the LPG tank haha

        • Strap it to the roof

        • I hate defiant TV's.

        • replace with ute version problem fixed

      • +1

Free delivery. I signed up today.

    • +5

My lounge room can't either. Didn't stop me from buying an 85" TV though hehe

    • +1

Use it as a kitchen table.

    • +1

Little known fact, you will have at least one wall that's isn't a structure wall
      Knock that one down.

      Open living baby!!

      Disclaimer: I'm not a cat.

  • +5

Amazing deal for anyone looking to buy that TV and sign up to a sim only plan

    • +4

      Very niche situation though

      • +4

Fortunately thats my exact situation. Almost bought the 70" hisense a couple days ago. This TV also has free delivery so saved another $75 (through JB).

        • LOL what are the odds

      • My situation too

  • As an existing Telstra customer out of contract, can I take out a new plan and then call Telstra to transfer my current phone number to the new plan?
Or do I need to port out and port back in?

    • +3

Yes you can, I have done this previously to get gift cards and will be doing it again.

      • How do we do it? I got a new plan, but want my old number lol

        • +1

Talk to CS and tell them your want to port your old number into the new account number and replace the new # on that new account with your old one.

          Can be done very easily.

    • -1

If your on The old Telstra system no - new system then yes

      • As in the new Telstra billing system? The direct CC payments rather than the traditional bills?

        • +1

Yes they have two systems… I have had many issues with them regarding their new and old system… Discounts are The biggest issues

    • +1

Pro tip is to do this instore, I have had plenty of issues trying to do it online in the past.

      • Telstra store?

        • +2

          Yes, in a Telstra Store.

          • @tryagain: Excellent. Thankyou! Do I have to wait for a period of time to elapse (such as tv delivery or some arbitrary time) before I do?

            • +1

@HelpMeiCantSee: No, you might need to make a booking, but as long as your old contact is lapsed, they just cancel that one, and assign the number to the new plan

      • 100% do as little as possible with Telstra online. Even the guys in the store will tell you the online service is schizen.

        • As is the support.

  • +1

Signed up to the jbhifi one yesterday…

  • +5

That's a great deal, taking into account the TV cost the phone plan works out to $16.70/month - with 300gb/m included

At that price point makes me consider whether I really need HDMI 2.1

This TV supports 120hz in Games mode (probably some sort of upscaling for games and sports), but input is only maxing out at 60hz

    • +3

$11.71/month if you can also claim the $10/month port-in bonus via Telstra chat, which is applicable for the first 12 months.

      • How can you do this?

        • +3

Once you sign up, just message on telstra chat and ask. If they say no, just disconnect and reconnect until you get someone who does.

          • +1

@dreamtime: it's already got the $20 off a month. This is a $99 plan. You won't get an extra $10, the credits are radial buttons, you can only have one.

            • @ONEMariachi: Correct, i tried asking a few times. M on the $79 plan

            • @ONEMariachi: IDK if we are referring to the same thing. Telstra after-sales chat can apply a $10/month Welcome Port-In credit for 12 months to accounts. I get what you're referring to with the radial buttons on the Telstra resellers console inside TGG/JB Hifi. The Welcome Credit is separate, and activated by Telstra via chat after the account is active.

              • +2

@yojabbajabba: I've got internal siebel access. You are not correct.

                • @ONEMariachi: You are correct, resellers with Siebel access cannot apply multiple discounts/credits on a contract. I've seen what you're referring to with my own eyes when I signed up inside a JB Hifi and the store-rep walked me through the pages on Siebel.
However, the reps on Telstra chat (via My Telstra app) can apply a $10/month credit separately which shows up on the next bill once processed.
How do I know this? Because for the past 3 years I have successfully applied to have this credit applied via a rep on Telstra chat after I had signed up /ported in to one of these JB/Telstra 12-month contracts, as have many other OzBargainers. We can both be right.

                  • +1

@yojabbajabba: Mate. I don't work in a reseller. I work for telstra directly. I have the same Siebel access as the people you are going to through chat do.

You're telling me, you have successfully got a $99 plan down to $69/month? If that is true, post an image of your bill showing that. Because I'm physically looking at the system right now and it should not be possible.

                    • @ONEMariachi: Sure, I’ll send you a PM

                    • -1

@ONEMariachi: I transferred to this plan today and successfully got 10$ off for a 12 month on my second try.

                    • +1

@ONEMariachi: Did ya get the PM? What was the result.

                    • +4

@ONEMariachi: I'd like to eat my hat in front of all of OzBargain. I checked all of my bills from October 2021 onwards and there was only ONE $10 deduction made on the second bill. It looks like the Telstra chat (from my re-reading of the chat) only applied a manual adjustment of $10 one-time.

ONEMariachi is correct, since the transition to Siebel the old way of getting $10/month for porting in is no longer being honoured. Thanks for your patience with we OMENariachi; now I have to swallow the extra $110 worth of billing I thought I got off!

                      • +1

@yojabbajabba: All good bud. At least we got down to the bottom of it, so others are aware in the future :)

    • +3

Wait I am confused, their website says it's capped at 4k 60hz for game mode?
Would been absolute banger of a deal if it really does 75inch 120hz 4k

      • +1

This is coming from their tech specs page

        Smooth motion rate 120

There's actually no info about the display max Hz though, only the HDMI port/input is limited to 4k60Hz
