I'd say this is targeted as I only got it on one of three primary cards.

    • Yay I'm finally targeted

  • +4

I could use this, but it's near impossible to find a BP station that supports this app in SA, they're all OTR.

    • Only one I know of is on Daws Rd which luckily for me is only about 10 minutes from my place. It does stick out, it is probably the worst looking BP I know of but no surprise as it isn't part of OTR.

    • +6

      The app is really crappy

      • Yep… Ready to fuel up but can't get into the app.

      • This. Was a very painful experience installing and registering in the app.

I've done my min. $60 spend but haven't got any notification yet from Amex. Has anyone got theirs and if so how long did it take?

  • Nothing on my Premium amex.

  • Targeted.
Nothing on mine (but did take up recent Ampol deal )

    • Hi, I took up the Ampol offer and spent $70 on the card.
$10 credit got rejected but they gave me no reason why.

      • A couple of troubleshooting questions:

Did you actually make a purchase at an Ampol or Caltex location participating in the offer?

Did you actually spend the money on your AMEX in the convenience store itself?

        • Ampol FuelPay (the app) and paying at the pump itself were excluded.
        • Hi, it is a branded "Ampol Foodary Austral"
The receipt says the same but the Amex statement has it as Caltex.
Caltex is also included and this is definitely not one of the exclusions.

Got nowhere with Amex so putting it down as a loss.
Very hard when they don't give you a reason and just say it was rejected.

          • @noddypiper: I had a look back at some of the Ampol location data I have (sourced directly from Ampol's location API on Ampol's website) and it looks as though Ampol Foodary Australi is a recently-opened location that appeared after the Ampol/AMEX deal started.

            • It is an Ampol Foodary location. Ampol locations with a Foodary-branded conveniece store are not operated by Chevron nor EG, so you're fine there. (For reference, if you made a purchase at an EG location, the AMEX statement would say EG FuelCo.)

            • It appeared on the Ampol location API between 30 April and 06 May, but the most recent AMEX/Ampol deal started on 08 April. My guess is that AMEX programmed the offer to only apply to a specific list of Ampol locations at the start of the campaign and did not update it when the Austral location came online.

            • Google Street View indicates that the location was a grassy field in March 2021, which hints that this location only opened relatively recently.

If I were you, I would contact AMEX again to see whether you can get a more sympathetic customer service representative. Alternatively, you could contact AFCA and lodge a formal complaint. You'll likely be told to wait, because the terms of the offer state it may take up to 90 days from the offer end date for AMEX cashback to appear on your account, but in my experience, AMEX cashback either appears within a handful of business days from the date of purchase or never.

        • Ampol / Caltex / EG Caltex they are all very confusing…… gotta be sure 100% it says ampol and pay at the counter (tap) to buy fuel+ other stuffs in the store.

Some Ampol stores will have Woolies sign as well.

I wish Amex do 7-11 or Coles Express (shell), they are easier to identify.

  • Thanks op, got it on my explorer

  • Does anyone know if this includes lpg?

I think i found the answer from google: IMPORTANT: Due to safety reasons LPG purchases are not permitted using BPme

    • +1

You cannot purchase LPG via BPme.

All fuel products except for LPG can be purchased via BPme or the BP Plus app. For safety reasons, you are not able to purchase LPG via BPme.

The last time I remember using BPme, I could not see an option for LPG, even though I was parked next to an LPG pump.

  • BPme never worked for me as I can't add any credit cards in the app. Always get promoted "there was a problem adding your card", good deal though.

  • Got it on my Platinum Edge.

  • Cheers OP, got it on mine (explorer). $60 get $10

  • +1

Got it on my plat. Not sure if it has anything to do with whether you’ve used your card recently at a BP.

    • Have always used discounted GCs/HSBC Everyday Global at servos, don't remember ever using my AmEx.

  • Thanks OP. Got on mine but nothing on supplementary card.

    • +4

My supplementary card always has 0 offer all the time from more than 2 months ago. I think Amex has stopped giving offers to all supplementary cards.

      • Happen to me 2

        • Ya I think they have plugged the freebies :(

  • +2

Looks like all offers on my supplementaries (plat edge) have been nixed

    • +2

Same. Even contacted Amex to question it. Unusual. They said they are inundated with calls about it and they are fixing the issue.

      • +2

Nice, you're more proactive than me. I just assumed they were cracking down on people (like me!) rorting offers

  • Got it on my plat and both of my reserve cards. Still no offers on any of my supp cards.

  • Nothing on my Qantas discov.

    • Edit: I’ve got it now

  • -4

Do I have to use the BPME app? Can I swipe my amex card in the store?

  • Nothing here

  • +2

    Received for main Amex Essential.

Surprisingly my supps basically don't have any offers from anyone.

    • +1 same here

    • Same

  • +4

Thanks OP, time to re-install the BPMe app

  • Not too bad. Where i live,Caltex/WoW is slightly cheaper after 4c discount. But this one would cost me about $5 less for 1/2 tank (~30L)

  • +2

Cheapest BP near me for 98 229.99, cheapest overall 7/11 at 209.7. So $0 savings on a tank of fuel. Will keep an eye on prices to see if BP come down before this expires.

    • 98 is 199.9 at Ingleburn NSW right now.

  • +4

This app is awful. I'll give it another try for $10.

Last time I used it, it gave an error after fuelling and I had to talk to the operator anyway. I would actually use this app if it was more stable.

    • I concur with this statement “the app is awful”.

Previous 2 fill ups resulted in payment processing errors even though I could see the amounts being charged to my card (iPhone Wallet notification). Both times requiring me to get out of the car and have the operator to remediate the issue manually.

      • Yeah just had same issue with the card tonight. Had to go in to ask the guy to unlock the bowser before the app would let me fill up. Then an issue processing payment after that. Got an sms to tell me to pay up, charge goes through as scancam instead of bpme so I hope I still get the cashback.

        • Scancam is typically for fuel theft and would generally have a processing fee on top of the petrol price. I doubt it would give you the cashback. I think it's important to be sure that fuel is paid for before leaving the garage.

If you have been charged a processing fee, you should get in contact with BP to get your money back and give feedback on their app.

          • @ihfree: It was pending as SCANCAM but now appears as a BPME transaction.

        • Had this unlocking problem yesterday. Error in the app unlocking pump. Had to go in and the operator had to do something on the console. Haven't had this happen previously.

    • 'Awful' is indeed a compliement to describe this app. Saved on 2 of my cards, but guess I wont bother to use the offer when the app itself is so shitty.

  • Thanks OP. Got on Plat Edge Card.

  • Thanks OP. got on Plat Edge & Gold. Curiously never have gotten any of these on the sup card. odd as Wifey uses her sup card more than i use the actual

  • +2

My God the app is crap. Easier and faster to just pay instore.

    • +3

That why they pay you $10 to use it and they collect more data to improve.

    • +1

      Years of trash

  • So I attempted to take advantage of this offer a week ago after saving it to my card, but the offer still shows as unredeemed in my AMEX app. I spoke to someone on live chat and they said my BPme purchase was showing as ineligible, even though I used the BPme app to make a fuel purchase. Ended up having to escalate it with screenshot proof of the transaction. A lot of effort for a $10 saving, sigh.

    • Exactly same happened with me however I haven’t reached out to Amex yet.

      • +1

I'm still waiting for them to get back to me after escalating and sending the screenshots. Have heard nothing so far…

        • Same here

          • +1

@kelasen: I've got the cash back 4 days after spent.

            • @timhn: Thanks for the update.

            • @timhn: Great to know, thanks :)

              • @AL0126: Just redeemed mine. Will see how long it takes

                • @OzBerghainer: I checked my statement today and saw that they credited the $10. I looked at my statement history and saw they credited it three days ago, and the Offers section of the app shows that I 'redeemed' the offer three days ago as well.

So, it looks like it was manually processed. Glad they finally did it…

  • BPme app no longer on Playstore?

  • Anyone in the same boat in that they haven't received the $10 from this yet? I made the qualifying spend a week before the offer was due to end.

    • +1

      Not me.

I made a qualifying spend two weeks before the offer was due to end, and I received my $10 credit three days after the qualifying spend.

    • +1

Yes, I have had this happen to me too, it has also occurred for me for the most recent Ampol deal (I did go to an Ampol and not a WW's one).
I've marked a date in my calendar 90 days from transaction date to have the fun of chasing Amex down on this. They give themselves the good old up to 90 days to see it in your account run around in the hope you forget about it and won't answer queries prior in my experience.

      • +1

My $10 credit for BP finally came in; was dated July 1.

        • Still waiting for mine. Made the transaction on 21 June and still waiting.

  • msg the amex team on the website to get it escalated if you are anxious
