This looks like something I would make myself with my new Ozito tools.
But where is it actually made? China?

Neg away, but at that price, even at the discounted price, you have to be joking.
Mango Wood (which can easily dry out and crack) and Pine.

People only write reviews to complain, and some of those one star reviews are pretty poor (one person bought something right before it went on sale, a couple are about the courier, one person gave 1 star because of all the other bad reviews, nothing they experienced themselves, etc).

Sounds like their in store staff simply don't care but if you're buying it online what does it matter?

    • Thanks for this 🙏

Might be good if they actually shipped in a reasonable time frame even with said in stock items. Source: I've made 5 online purchases with West elm and their delivery and online refund system stinks…

Sad, but true! We made a decision to move to a carbon neutral warehouse in August last year. Sadly, lockdown limited workers to come in beyond 5kms which pushed everything back. We were down by 50% in labour for 5 months and we are still struggling with recruitment. It's much better than where we were 3 months ago, but orders are shipping at a steadier rate now. I have had customers that waited 6 months for goods that have been in the warehouse all this time, but I also had over 100 customers that got their order in a month.

I'm not trying to justify what's happening, but I just wanted to say that everyone here has been busting their b***s to get the orders out. Even corporate has been going into warehouse to support where they can.

Please be kind to retail employees as it's none of their doing, but the goods are top quality and frankly not that much more expensive than where the market is right now.

Looks fairly flimsy. Couldn't you make it at home by gluing some chopping boards and some pine sleepers from Bunnings?? :)
