New SanDisk Cruzer Blade 8GB USB Stick - AU $4.85 Each + Free Del in Aus - Apus Auction Express

380

I was looking for a few of these 8GB sticks and I couldn't find cheaper with a BIN price. I know Apus is not held in high regard here but they do have a good reputation on ebay, FWIW.

I don't know if this constitutes an OzBargain but at the price I thought I'd pass it on to those not in the know - like me. You could also make an offer for multiples?

    decent price - grabbed one.

  • Quite decent for an 8GB. I remember when I got two 4GB's for $15 a year ago!

  • Got a couple. Free shipping was the clincher.

  • Purchased one. Thanks.

  • I find it funny that you get online 2gb backup when the stick is 8gb… good price though, cheaper than a happy meal!

    • Apologies for off topic but how much are you paying for happy meals? My local Maccas does them for $4.45

Back On Topic, good find I'm going to have to grab a couple of these. For some reason everytime I buy one I fill it and can't bring myself to delete anything.

      • $4.45?

That's a bit expensive. The McDonalds where I live (ACT) does it for $3.50

  • This listing has ended :(

  • aww.. sold out :(

  • I have a BIG problem with Shopping Square: They promised to refund my money on 15/3/2012 and today (15/5/2012) I still have NOT had my money back yet.
    This is unbelievable.
Can anyone show me how to get my money back?

    • with a hammer. There are so many people playing funny buggers with other peoples money at present. Trust no one.

    • How did you pay? credit card? paypal?

  • I think I bought the last one :O

  • Listing Ended :(

      • Come on. I am looking for some serious advices.
        Some one helps me, please.
        It was $489.
Is the Shopping square rep here?

        • Contact your CC issuer or paypal. If you used direct deposit, wish you luck.

      • They jacked up the price to $5.20 now

  • $5.85 from the same seller, still a good price.

Great deal although The 5 year warranty doesn't really count for anything. My sandisk I bought a couple of months ago broke, always said disk write protected, sandisk FINALLY agreed to replace it, just had to send it back via registered mail. Would have cost more to send it back then it did to originally purchase it. :(

    • Did you actually send it back? lol

      • +1

Haha no way, registering post cost like $4 alone. Just annoying because i had to do so much stuff and give them heaps of info and pics just to find that out :(

  • Slow as hell writing, not that great reading:

    Sequential Read : 15.982 MB/s
    Sequential Write : 3.709 MB/s
    Random Read 512KB : 17.020 MB/s
    Random Write 512KB : 0.575 MB/s
    Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 3.999 MB/s [ 976.3 IOPS]
    Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 0.098 MB/s [ 23.9 IOPS]
    Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 4.128 MB/s [ 1007.8 IOPS]
    Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 0.115 MB/s [ 28.0 IOPS]

But for $5 it's probably not that bad.

Does it actually make a big difference for 8gig of data? (not having a go, genuinely want to know :))

      • +2

yes. i wouldnt want to wait 36 minutes to copy 8gb of data

        • +1

          thanx bbyboy heres the calc:
          8000MB / 3.7MB = 2162sec
2162sec/60 = 36 mins (best scenario assuming copy speed is always at 3.7 MB/s)

It's OK, but say you want to put a 1.5GB video file on it before you head off to your friends/familys house to watch it.

That'll take you about 7-8 minutes.

It's not the end of the world, but it is annoying. Especially when you can pay about double and get one that'll do it in a minute.

What 8GB drive has medium to fast speeds? USB 2 is fine. Just one a bit quicker than the above but for not much more $. Any recommendations?

        • +1
        • but would it make any difference to the playback when trying to watch that video through say a DVD player with a USB port? Would it be laggy at all?

        • No problem there.

  • $5.20 here : http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/brand-new-sandisk-Cruzer-Blade-8G… Just 35c more than the listed one. Ebayer has 100% feedback on 860 transactions.

    • Just checked. I got one from here too (today) and it's already been posted, before the few I got from Apus Auction Express yesterday.
