Confused by lack of battery in hybrid - realise hybrid means something different in bikes than in cars.
hybrid means something different in a lot of things compared to cars.
I don’t get why people comment like that tbh
Hybrid cars aren’t the only use of the word hybrid.
Typically a hybrid bike is somewhere between a road bike and a mountain bike. Typically road bike sized wheels with mountain bike geometry and components
It's blue. Isn't that enough to qualify as a hybrid?
Should have been in green to qualify for hybrid
Green is 'green' or 'eco' not hybrid
is this bike better than the equivalent prices Reid Hybrids?
Anyone know how these compare to Giant bikes?
I've ridden for decades and have never heard of this brand. Quite a lot of componentry that's their own brand, generic, or unheard of brands. Seems on par with a Kmart bike. I'd spend the extra couple of hundred on the entry level Giant personally.
Edit: seems to be some sort of budget Chinese brand https://www.skorpionbikes.com/Customer/About.aspx
If you compare to the cheapest hybrid bike that Giant offers, this bike isn't too bad with some of the components even being similar between the two bikes, yet the skorpion is half the price. It's also a heck of a lot better than the bikes you get from Kmart. Obviously not as good value as the Aldi mountain bikes of the past, but with current prices I wouldn't gloss over this one too quickly unless you care about resale.
Also Skorpion seams to be a Taiwanese brand, coincidentally where a lot of Giant bikes are made.
hasn’t got hydraulic discs which to me is the bas.one in 2022 ….. bit like buying a phone with only 3g when world has moves to 5g.
Come on bike nerds, do your thing. Dad with 65kg, 170cm, 19 year old (I think, will check with Mrs), he lives in the burbs, goes to uni (abt 10-15km each way), not hitting trails, concerned about theft.
This is more money than K-Mart's most famed effort, less than the "names" I've seen. Does it fit the bill? All input appreciated.Claims to have alloy fork. I really hope that is not true, or it will soon snap off while riding :-)
What weight?
Basic bike. Will do OK for the ride to uni, but not sure its a great bargain, sight unseen.
Only medium size?
