Are they comparable products though?
I only have experience with Sistema lunchbox size containers, but assuming it's the same quality of plastic, then the Sistema will be more durable that the low grade stuff at Bunnings.Having bought a few of these in the past can confirm much better quality of Sistema containers. The small ones with the tray are great for organising small things. The see-through feature is a bonus.
I bought these Sistema's on sale before, varying sizes, they're definitely middle of the road quality. We've had them for a couple of years.
They can be stacked but they don't support a huge amount of weight. As per usual the clips are the weak point. We eventually bit the bullet and bought
Award Heavy Duty Storage Containers Australian made and owned and we use them for camping, so open/close all day and stack heavy stuff on top, no worries.
They also have a budget container which is cheaper than the Sistema, Award Pack N Stack Storage Container with Wheels, 50L, $9.50
I'm not sure of its quality, I can see a little Australian owned sticker in the photo, but that doesn't mean it's good quality.I've got a few of the budget Award boxes. They are budget in quality. Got some Sistema too and they're much better. Ultimately I reckon you buy whatever leaves the least dead space on a shelf when stacked side by side.
Not the same product
The cheap Montgomery ones are much less durable.
If you want something that lasts from bunnings these ones do ok, they are better than the sistema in terms of durability, but cost a little more.

Got a stack (pun intended) of these ! They are pretty good I love the fact they are modular and the 40, 60 and 80 L bins are all stackable. The only complaint is the lids are a bit of a weakpoint, I wouldn't stack more than 50 - 60 KGs on them as I've had a couple that broke.
Yeah unfortunately the plastic on those are thinner & a lot less durable. The Sistema one's have thicker, more flexible plastic, so they tend not to crack very easily, especially the lids. I bought a few of those cheaper Bunnings ones 4-5 years ago and they didn't last the year (we use them as camping tubs), but the Sistema one's I bought to replace them are still going strong.
I buy Sistema that's made in New Zealand but not CHINA.
Got a bunch of these and I'm often tempted to chuck out every other old crappy box lying around and replace them with more Sistema boxes. They're brilliant.
Now is the right time 🙂
How do these compare with the Ikea Samla tubs?
This should explain everything lol
https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41qQJW9RP3L.AC_SY580.jpgAlso curious about how they compare with IKEA SAMLA, I was actually about to buy a bunch of them.
Anyone know if these would be suitable for a DIY souse vide bath? Not sure these would hold up to constant ~70 degree temps
I don't know about these ones specifically, but I frequently use a similar plastic tub for sous vide. I'm sure it would be fine.
An esky is the best thing for sous vide. It’ll use less power too, since heat is retained.
Limit of 5 per item online when checking. Was tempted to buy a heap of them if there wasn't a limit as see-through is good (note, need to add notes at checkout on colour choice, as there is also black).
I've been using these $16 from Ikea, although not see-through but durable enough.

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/526536One weakness to be aware of with the larger sizes is the lid. Can bow inwards quite significantly when stacked. The 30L is probably the worst in this regard - it seems ideal for things like glassware, but because there's not a lot of height, you're less likely to leave a gap at the top to allow for the bowing if other containers are stacked on it, putting the contents at risk of getting squished.
If anyone is looking for quality alternatives I can recommend these. Clear and strong.
