  • How's the C1 for a monitor these days?
I've got a 65 CX in the living room hooked to the PS5 and for watching.

But want to replace my 2x27inch 1440 monitors with this, and possibly get the PS5 in the office.

Does the C2 have better burn in mitigation?

    • Have you looked into the Gigabyte FO48U? Might be better as a pc monitor.

      • It's worse, the ABL on the FO48U is even worse than the C1, can drop to only 100 nits pretty abrubtly. It does have the KVM and displayport though

      • Yeah have. It seems to be a worse.
Ideally I'd like to keep the TV functions as well so I can watch from time to time.

Eventually, it'll be hooked up to the upcoming 4x series cards.

    • +2

Consider the Dell/Alienware AW3423DW? I have a 55" E9 in the living room and that in my office. It's a better size for sitting on a desk and has a 3 year warranty including burn in protection. Can be had for $1800 or so with a 20% off Dell code.

Not good for the PS5 though.

    • I tried using my C9 55' as a monitor and it was too big for my desk, but only just. I'm keeping an eye out for the 48 at a good price for an upgrade.

    • I've been using a C1 48" as a monitor since black friday last year. It's been excellent! I upgraded to it from an Acer Predator 34" Ultrawide and it's been very good at everything I've thrown at it. I have it wall-mounted just behind my desk. Both the 48" and 55" are too big for a desk unless your desk is like 100cm deep, because the stand is very bulbous at the back of the telly. If you have the space for it though, I highly recommend it!

  • do i need another tv no, will i buy the c1 YES

  • I recently got the 55" C1 for $1945 ($2000 delivered) from The Good Guys so try your luck with them

  • Buy it now or wait for EOFYS?

    • I'm in a similar boat. But I dunno if they will sell out by then πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ

      • fwiw still seems like there's a fair bit of stock.

The 77" was last in stock at a lot of places and they magically all seemed to find some. It will dry up but I think the 48" is still around enough that it could go lower.

        • Hope so. I think 55s and 65s are the more popular and will prob go faster than the 77s and 48s though.

    • Same. Though I am after QLED rather than OLED.

    • +1

They'll stop having stock soon. The new version is being released.

This. Happened to me literally overnight with a Samsung TV. Stock one day - next day gone and new model was on shelf.

        • Ouch πŸ˜” was this recent? And during a prominent sale period?

I've seen ppl (well at least once) post that the pulled the trigger just before the new models were released… 🀨 I was thinking, wait for the new model to come out, THEN buy the old model for cheaper πŸ€” seems like it's a pretty small window πŸ˜•

  • We need another $200-300 off with Afterpay. That's what they were in March.. $1850 for this and $1699 for the 46"

Given the C2 is so close reports are its a better screen

    • there's not a lot of improvement on the c2 especially at the 48" level, unless you want to wait for the c2's to drop to this level I don't think you'll miss anything.

  • Any deals on 43" ?

  • Bought this for 2.2k about 2 weeks ago from Appliance Central because needed one. Ah well. Can't win em all.

    • Now on at $1978. person answering the phone said about 5 in stock. they’ll do it for 1950 if you pick it up.
