From what I am seeing, the deal is actually only 90,000 points for the $295.
You need to keep open for > 12 months to get the extra 30,000 points, which would attract a new annual fee of $395 (unless you could somehow cancel quickly enough to get refunded the fee, but keep the points).

Get the points asap then close.

      Fee is pro rata-ed.

      • Thanks I was wondering if they pro-rata fees

        • For confirmation, where can we find this?

If you ever want to buy a house, maybe don't do this. Changing your credit card too frequently can impact your credit rating…source https://www.finder.com.au/is-it-ok-to-be-changing-credit-car…

I churned multiple times per year, had no issue getting a homeloan, just had to ensure all but one was closed.

@Superstar15: Me too. Still got the highest score after going through countless cards.

But the credit limit is only a very small portion of income, not sure if that matters.

          • +1

@Superstar15: I just took out a 600k homeloan with two credit cards open. Just told the dude who approved it that I churn through them for the bonus points.

  • How much is this in gift cards?

    • +3

Please don't. That is always the lowest $perpoint

      • Not sure why this was negged - Nand0sx is completely correct.

      • For someone with kids and many dogs, I don’t have the option to travel right now.

        • Yes but it doesn't mean the comment is any less inaccurate, nor deserving of a neg. You'd likely better selling the points in classifieds or saving them for when you need to travel / pay for family member travels.

  • The points-to-annualfee ratio on CCs seems to gradually be going down down down over time.

    • Same with JB’s Telstra 12 month gift card promos. It’s almost like they’ve suddenly realised the churn.

Nab deals are outstanding for the pro rata fee refund, just did my 100k QFF, cancelled and refunded fee. Cost me $32 fee in the end

    • good to know, thanks

    • Newbie to this, so excuse my ignorance, but do you simple 1. get the card, 2. spend up to the amount needed to spend, 3. wait for the points 4. cancel the card? Or can you skip step 3 and go straight to cancel?

      • +1

Have to wait for the points to appear in your frequent flyer account before cancelling anything

I spoke with NAB customer care and they can't honor pro rata on annual fees. How did you manage? Any tips will be helpful.

      • Online chat 😉

  • +2

    All of the above.
When you cancel using their online chat they ask for BSB and account for refund of fee pro rata.

    Don't skip step 3.
Any points not yet transferred are forfeited.
I waited for all points to be visible in my Qantas account.

  • What is the minimum income?

  • I've already used this one. What's the next best one for qantas points apart from ANZ? Would it be the CBA one?

    • I just got the Citibank 100k points and $175 annual fee

        • is citibank annual fee pro rata ?

      • To be eligible to receive 100,000 bonus Qantas Points, you must apply for the Citi Premier Qantas Credit Card by 28 April 2022.

This offer is valid until 28 April 2022. Post this advertised date; Citi reserves the right to continue, withdraw or change the offer at any time without notice.

        How to proceed?

        • I did see that and called Citi to confirm i was still eligible even though i applied on the 04/05. They confirmed it's ongoing promotion.

          • @wikiwiki: thanks. I'll call tomorrow to confirm and apply.

          • @wikiwiki: wow they literally reduced it to 80k this afternoon.

  • If you have NAB debit card, does that affect your ability to apply for this card as “new customer”? Thank you!

    • You should be fine as long as you do not have their credit card. Read the Terms and Conditions.

  • For the purchase requirements. Does buying gift cards from Coles or Woolies count as everyday purchases ? or they can't tell ?

    • +1

Yes, it counts and there is a deal coming up with Coles on Weds. They cannot tell what you purchased, but do it instore.
