I have a credit/refund for an international transaction expected for the end of May/June on a Citibank debit card that expired at the end of April.
I still have the same transaction account open, but a new debit card issued with a new number and expiry.
I contacted Citibank and had mixed responses if the credit will go through or it will be blocked..
Can anyone comment specifically with Citibank if this scenario would allow a credit to my transaction account using the old card number?
I know many other banks have the smarts to allow this.
What mixed responses from Citibank did you get? If the same account number is still open then the funds should get deposited fine there. None of us randoms will be able to tell you conclusively, get confirmation from your bank. Speak to someone else if you need to.
