I think this price is the cheapest for this model (cheapest recently for CMR).
$21.125/TB (really good price/TB for CMR).

That's tough my guy
that would have been a LONG while ago
I remember buying $125 3tb drives back prior to 2015….maybe even earlier in the Microserver NL40 days.
$169 is more than a fair price… I wonder about reliability… but 2yr warranty sounds ok
I was wondering the same thing regarding reliability
Was it RLL or MFM?
Helium or Air ? Has air holes (based on image on amazon) so I assume it is not the helium model.
Wish Iron Wolf's NAS would go down to this price
So I’m gonna put either this or a 4tb barracuda in my pc, is it fine to buy a second one of these as a backup and just let it sit with my photos and videos etc in a cupboard? How long for? Obviously the non-used one will last longer but it’s hard to tell by how much
You might be better off looking at backblaze backup service for that.
Yes go backblaze. Leverage cloudflare and get CDN access making origin pulls lightning fast.
Was thinking of the same, but since it is cold storage, might not worth it to buy a new drive, can push into any old drive(s) and keep offline.
Like others mentioned BackBlaze is a great offsite storage alternative, but don't rely solely on disk based storage, especially from one brand.
As for backups, please consider using the 3-2-1 rule:
Three copies of data (original + 2).
Two different storage types (backed up data should be kept on two separate storage types to minimise the chance of failure).
One copy offsite (at least one data copy should be stored in an offsite or remote location, protecting against theft/damage from natural disasters/fire).
Great price, but the only problem is I can't buy more than 1.
Any good for Blue Iris?
According to interwebs
Blue is not designed for the surveillance demands, you can use them but they usually will suffer a premature death, stick with the purple
Hmmm how premature I wonder… Happy if manufacturers replace it…
This one any good for NAS? cheers
Definitely not, go WD RED PLUS.
Afterpay crap, who really wants to use layby to buy something?
When it's an exclusive deal it's still worth it. The one time I used Afterpay I just paid off my purchase immediately anyway. Hardly an inconvenience for what was a big saving.
"Coupon code you have entered is invalid", can anyone confrim this?
It means you used the AFTER20 code on a pervious umart deal, but that is tied to your email only.
oh thanks but I have never used Afterpay before
Ok, then they may have taken the AFTER20 deal off this item, it did have the code shown before maybe to many people where buying them.
Man my last Umart order was about this price for a 3tb drive haha
